Agree, proof that people think the recession is over.

Here's one BMW made at the height of the height of the 70's recession. Cost new was about £7k.

What does EFA mean, edited for accuracy?? Had to google that

I don't get the impression it's sold out at all, surpised if it is at all actually. Anyway, whp cares. You can have one if you've got the money thats the point.

It's apparently also going to be available in RHD (right hand drive for those that aren't up to speed on their acronyms!)

So, an even more hardcore version of a hardcore version of a hardcore version of a 3 series?
Sounds good to me biggrin

Surely the track-going GTS buyers - expecting to spend over £110k on the most hardcore factory M3 that money can buy - will be rather peeved to see an even higher mentagrade edition appear?

I would've thought that this is priced for people that want 'the best'. Someone might want a hardcore track/occasional-weekend toy but only opt for the GT3 instead of the RS to sake £20k. Who in their right mind would 'cost-cut' and yet still buy a £110k M3? Even if the GTS is 'sold-out', does it not defeat the point of this car existing!?

Sounds like mismatched flagship rivalry to me...

Spending a six figure sum on a BMW 3-series, any BMW 3-series, even a BMW 3-series lovingly rolled on the thighs of a 19yr old virginal Munchen fraulein, is just plain mental. Imho.

How about ignoring badge snobbery and accepting that 120k for what will ultimately be one of the finest drivers cars ever built is actually a pretty good deal. Roll it on the thighs of said 19yr old and it's a frikkin steal!

120k Euros, by the way, unless I missed something in the posts on the last thread.

Im surpised no insults yet about the matt black colour. So many bias people on here at PH. When it was the Focus RS500 loads of you were moaning on about the matt black paint or the ST orange etc,but if its on a BMW then its ok - ttue badge snobbery here.

but it's not a 3 series though is it. even without having touched one you can guarantee that it's not going to drive anything like a 320d etc

not that it makes much difference, it's not £110k. it's price in GP is under £100k. agree with your point though.

'The GTS's striking orange paintwork won't be carried over, however; the GTS-R is said to be getting a matt black paint job.'

Good. Orange just looks wrong on a Beemer.
Yes but matt black is like a recent fast Ford, a "yesterday on PH"-Merc, a Lotus Whatever, etc. Matt black seems to be the only colour to make a car look naughty!
True that orange will look awful. Yellow somehow suits the M3 but otherwise BMWs aren't nice in bright colours.

I've had the joke twice: buying a BMW and a few weeks later they make the same one better. Very frustrating. In the past when you bought a car, it didn't really change for years...
One will hesitate more and more to change; same thing with 8mm films, Super-8 films, Betamax tapes, VHS tapes, Blue-whatever, CD-roms, DVDs, Super-DVDs and so on... tape recorders - cassette players -

Everybody seems to paint their most extreme car versions in matte-black since I painted modded C3 vette in that color...;)
