I have had to use ADAC once in the UK and they basically use the AA, so you get the AA's roadside assistance for less than the AA usually charge.

There was a bit of extra time to organise getting authorisation to be recovered to a local dealer in my particular case, but it was minmal extra hassle.

I've been in the ADAC since 2009.
After two weeks of membership, I had a problem with my TVR Tuscan engine.
The ADAC, at first, offered to send it to a specialist in the Frankfurt area but when I explained it was a newly reconditioned engine under warrantee, they had no problem in shipping the car back to the responsible workshop in England.
Then three years later they shipped the same car back to England after an Autobahn accidemt.
In 2010 they shipped my existing Tuscan back when the engine management computer died.

In England I have only ever had to call them with problems at home, where the AA has always comes out to me.

My understanding is that normal ADAC membership covers Germany, ADAC Plus covers all of Europe and then there is ADAC Global.

With my plus membership I get discounts off shell petrol and when travelling globally, many cards give me discount when I present my ADAC card

The link on the OP says you must be resident in Germany to join. Anyone joined up recently or is this no longer available to us in the UK?
