I know a chap with a SAAB 9-5 aero that has 470+bhp. Looks bog standard except for the Hirsch alloys (which are on the options list) and big Brembo's, cost him a hell of a lot of money to get to that stage of tune right enough.
Another fella I know has a self tuned 9000 aero with 440bhp, externally standard and does 60-100 as quick as a 997 turbo (4.summat secs)cool

My CLK500 is outwardly indistinguishable from the 4 cylinder and (shudder) diesel models bar a couple of badges. It is even in old-man-wood-and-beige-leather 'Elegance' spec and 17" wheels!

However it has a nice big 5.5 V8 with 388 hp and a ground rippling 391 lb ft. In a straight line it would leave my old Z4 M Coupe for dead.

Nissan Stagea? Skyline estate, twin turbo, up to 1000bhp and look like it should have a dog cage in the back.

I find my old 1999 E38 BMW 740 being a bit of a stealth car.

Just looks like an old Beamer but I have to say I've never actually put the pedal to the floor as there's too much oomph in it for any occasion I've needed it. But then again, the worst I have to do is burn off the "sports" diesel TDCI/TDI mob when they try and jump queues at traffic lights. I have an undefeated record from the traffic lights but then it's not fair on the little tractor boys I suppose.

The original Fiat Croma Turbo.

Looks like any other three box saloon, o-60 in 6.5. Very old now but used to be great fun pissing on Pug 205 Gt1s etc back in the day

Now I like that. Used to dream of these as a kid. Used to have digital heating which for the 80's was pretty special. Wouldn't like to have a crash in one, anyone remember what car when they crash tested 8 exec cars and the croma faired the worst?
Hmm, don't think the standard ones ever managed 0-60 in 6.5. Maybe low 8s - they were a 1200kg car with 155bhp and a long second gear that stretched nearly to the motorway limit like a 4-sp Capri 2.8.
Nice wave of mid-range turbo torque though.....and being a turbo there were always opportunities to increase the boost a bit

We bombed around in a debadged VW Passat W8 for a year recently. Very Q car i think.

- Remapped 335d but needs to be a touring in SE spec with no M Sport addenda.
- Mitsu Galant VR4
- Saab Aero

Stealthy! yikes

VXR8s are fooking massive, with a huge rear spoiler, massive vents in the wings, 19", or better still, 20" Carlos Fandango alloys, and with the optional 'performance' exhaust, sound like the God of Thunder gargling great whites.

Great car but hardly stealthy biggrin

ps You gonna buy one or not? wink

My old Saab 900 Turbo used to confuse a few people. Once the turbo spooled up it was as quick as most things this side of £100k. Melted the gearbox though!

Plan for my recent Eunos purchase is a supercharger, should see around 170-180 bhp hopefully with a few other bits and bobs. Not bad for something under a ton with a wooden steering wheel and gearknob.

Best one I've seen has to be a purple Corsa which absolutely beasted me down a B road last summer. Don't know what it was running, but I heard a dump valve exhale as it fked off into the distance at many, many leptons. Looked totally standard on the outside.

Yep, just another estate car... place fido in the back for added effect (just remeber he's there when you're approaching the first roundabout!)

Earlt 2000's Octavia VRS 1.8T.

Engine is massively tunable, decent handling and comfortable. Also once you take the VRS badges off looks like any other Octavia, and since they are used as taxi's will look mundane enough to take anyone by surprise. wink

Everything is relative, I suppose. To me, it looks anonymous and passes as a big Vectra at a swift glance. I'm still pondering. My son wants a Dodge Ram Quadcab...
