Are they still technically banned on most trackdays (invalidate the organisers insurance due to the timing aspect)?

Technically yes, but if you get an external antenna then lock it in a glove box so you're not peaking no one minds.

Some TDOs don't even seem to say anything when they're in full sight stuck in the windows.

Not to mention of course the swivelling of text on the screen as you turn the phone, shake iPod functionality, and the myriad of games that use very accurate tilt (and the spirit level!).

Incidentally, is it possible to disable the tilt screen rotate? It's extremely annoying when you're showing people a picture on the phone that needs to be rotated, or browsing the web lying on your side.
