That's kind of misunderstanding the whole ethos of a large section of the Fast Ford crowd isn't it? Many owners (and future buyers) will want proof that they were white from the factory.
you're right. i was trying to apply logic.

i like fast fords (often) but i don;t get 'the scene'. i don't understand the 'every other escort cosseh has rondell wheels' and i certainly don't get the magpie engine bays..

so you're right. i probably don;t get why someone would pay £500 so that you can have exactly the same wheels in a different colour just to satisfy Jason the local area coordinator of the RSOC

smile

(paying a monkey for some really light 18"s. well, i could understand that)

Just noticed while looking at an advert for a Mk1 RS on another thread, that in this photo there's a Mk2 RS in ST Tango Orange:

Looks good!

Ilford is in Greater London but still has Essex postcodes, Epping is 100% Essex.
Ilford was originally Essex and became part of Greater London due to the economic growth of London in 1965.

Well according to Wikipedia it was lol.

Translation: Demand has actually been rather tepid and we haven't sold quite as many as we'd hoped and so now we're trying some pathetically desperate measures to try and shift the last of the damn things without actually spending any more money so we've raided the stationary cupboard for all the whiteout we could find and painted up some wheels.

If there are still some left by next tuesday then we'll break out the most desperate of measures and create a pathetic limited edition distinguished mainly by vinyl stickers proclaiming that it's a special edition written in comic sans or some other cheesy font and maybe some free floor mats or something.
A big fan of the Focus then ???

500 for a set of 19" alloys from a main dealer?

That sounds cheap doesn't it?

Without tyres of course!
More likely an upgrade option.

IMO they look ste.
very smart but mine were buckled and dented so bad over the winter I change for some Motor sport jobbies, even the Ford dealer told Ford alloys were made of soft alloy, so a set for 500 about what their worth
Have you got a pic of your new ones ?

uncapped tag alert!

i think rondells would look pance on either focus. they're too retro.

mind you all these kiddies keep putting ronal turbos on lowered mk3 corsas and they actulally look quite good (in a "kruuz-northants" kind of way).

I'm sure I've seen a green one with white alloys already. scratchchin

As for them having been a sales flop - not in Essex they aren't. Bloody millions of the things around, they're this year's cult thing (like the Range Rover Sport was a couple of years back).

In fact, white wheels have been an option for the RS on the continent since launch. This is just an exercise of reducing stock, I should think.

When looking at one of mine the other week, the inside of the wheels (manufactured by Ronal) have part numbers for both white and silver versions.
