Different thing entirely.

You were nearly killed by your own poor driving.

The OP by someone elses'
Pistonheads: Being a road-craft expert matters...

You're quite correct, however you have failed to take account of the fact that I was comparing myself to the R8 driver and not the OP.

OK, it could have been a TT. They look identical from the front and are also driven by cocks.

In which case "canning" a TT isn't quite so bad.

I will admit, like alot of you will to have witnessed some damn right dangerous driving on the roads in my past, but not once have I had the urge to throw something, maybe a few choice words, but nothing other then that.

Could the R8 driver even claim?

I ask because if somebody threw a can of red bell at a car from the path, there would be no insurance to claim against. Because the OP was in a car, albeit stationary, does that change the rules?
What's insurance got to do with anything?

Pretty bad (and dangerous) piece of driving by the R8 driver.

But chucking a can of Red Bull and damaging his bonnet ? Sounds like you're jealous because the chap has an R8 and decided it's a convenient and easy way to vent your anger/frustration.

I'm willing to bet if it was an elderly lady in a Ford Focus you would have gesticulated and moved on without inflicting any damage to another person's property - pretty much sums up a part of British society. Can't have it. Damage it.
Err I could afford an R8 actually. A second hand one admittedly but I choose not to spend 10K a year on financing a car. I spend it on my existing toys instead or cheaper classic toys.

Throwing the can of Red Bull was an instinctive reaction. If I had been driving some of my other cars I wouldn't have posted this. I would either be in A&E or the morgue as it would have been a head on collision at a fair speed.

I posted because it's such an unusual reaction for me to do something like this as I said in my original post. Ending up half a cars length from a head on was somewhat frightening.

IMO doesnt make a difference if it was a £50 3 wheeler, OP is still a chump. If i drove like a wally i'd expect some abuse and apologise but i'd go mental if someone damaged my £2000 15 year old car.

I also witnessed some appalling driving by another cock in an R8 near Polhill in Kent on Saturday late morning.

I was travelling in a line of cars at about 50mph on a NSL single carriageway - the R8 driver pulled out several cars back and overtook across the chevrons at the junction to a big garden centre. This is a VERY busy junction and there have been a number of accidents and near misses on it. Utter stupidity and total lack of awareness on the drivers part. It was just extremely lucky that none of the cars he was overtaking wanted to turn right into the garden centre. If you are a member on here - be ashamed!

If you see a white R8 Cheshire today with a dent on the bonnet surrounded by a reddish orangey stain. You will know the driver is a tt. You see I was a bit angry to say the least and I vented my anger by launching an open can of Red Bull at his car. It was handy and it wasn't a long distance throw. A bit of an instinctive reaction and it would have been far better aimed at the drivers head rather than the car.
Sad, very sad frown

Judging by the level of aggression in many of the responses it sounds like the OP is by no means the only one with an anger management issue, I suspect that unless we are all just keyboard warriors some would have acted in a similar or worse fashion. Throwing a can of Redbull is out of order, but still preferable to the fight that some have suggested.

Also don't see any evidence the OP did it out of jealousy.

Disclaimer: I freely admit to having an anger issue.

Bad piece of driving by the audi driver no questions, however, you sir are a grade A tool for launching the red bull can.

I take it you went back later and made sure it wasnt lying in the middle of the road for some biker?

Well, if you just got a new R8 and some fool threw a can at it, wouldn't you want it fixed?

it surprises me that no one has mentioned....
"hooning it along.....OPEN can of red bull"

I don't think I can add too much more to this "debate"... but if any of you would like to cast the first stone...

That was both a pathetic and stupid move.

Pathetic in the fact that you damaged someone elses car with no reason

And stupid that you did it to someone who potentially has enough money to track you down and sue the utter st out of you, or worse! :|

I'd be stting myself, tbh.

So maybe he realised he didnt have time for the overtake, and noone was letting him back in, so he braked to a stop 300 yards from you, there by giving you plenty of time to stop had you been observing the conditions correctly (which you obviously were) so wheres the problem? I'd be filing for criminal damage against you.

Inconsiderate cock.
He didn't brake to halt at 300 yards though. He was accelerating at 300 yards to overtake the traffic. Not sure when he actually started breaking but he ended up stationary 7-8ft from my car. I am pretty sure I can't throw a can of Red Bull 300ft. His car was stationary when I threw the can.
