Jo Siffert is a real icon.
There's a really nice Swiss movie about him on DVD:

I'm not sure that a 908 is beautiful, but it simplicity makes it a great looking car. Brilliant pictures.

Beautiful, evocative cars.

Says something that a great POTW like this only gets 20 comments where a piece about any old rehashed Ford or Renault hot hatch will get 200+ comments though frown
Don't worry, it's just because people comment far more when they have something negative to say.

The 908 features on the cover of "Go Faster: The Graphic Design Of Racing Cars"

If you follow the link there is some footage of the cars in the race.

After getting motivated by such pics and video clips, we did the Targa Florio lap last summer (3 couples in 3 cars). It was fantastic, but the road surface quality is quite bad (possible worse when the races took place back in the days). I was with a 996 GT2 which wasn't the perfect tool. Road cars closer to rally cars would be the best to take there. Overall, it's a strongly recommended experience. Have plenty of video footage but didn't process them yet.

Sean Penn should do a motion picture.
