The face lifted version is uglier than the model it replaces. The grille looks cumbersome, the headlights look odd- so does the front bumper and oh my what is with those reverse lights at the rear! What a mess. Mercedes done the same thing with the SL- making a car uglier just so they can call it the 'new model' is unacceptable. The 2007 model in my opinion is the best Gran Tourer money can buy especially when they are now appearing for the £35,000 mark...Oh and the interior!?! what spec is that? The optional Robert Mugabe package.

Why would you ever go for this over a Conti GT?...
Because the Conti is:
a) an overpriced VW.
b a very very ugly blob.

I much prefer the previous generation CL. Now they are much nicer to look at. This just reminds me a bit of the insignia for some strange reason as this to me is a very bland design.

Looks like someone stretched the front of a Touareg.......no thanks. It's only a small change but it's done so much (wrong). The current model is way better IMO.
Trouble is the oldone doesn't come with a twin turbo V8 or the other likey niceties.

i also suspect that for long distance trips the CL will be every bit as good. especially for rear passengers.
