Rich_W said: Looks lke some people get all the fun On a pedantic note. BMW made 18,000 E30 M3's hardly a few. They just couldn't be bothered to homologate to RHD. On an even more pedantic note......17970 actually. Sorry (really I am) but if you are going to be pedantic you need to check your facts.

PH said: The E30 BMW M3 harks back to a better time. A time where driving mattered more than the trim level or pedestrian safety. It didn't care for MPG figures, BMW just wanted you to drive it like you stole it as anything less was doing it a disservice. It was built for those that understood, and who were prepared to pay more for the ultimate experience For once Sirs, I doff my 80s touring car obsessed hat to you. No need to revert to Evo balderdash like nuggety, hunkered down, or visceral. It makes a refreshing change to not have an E30 M3 spoken about in hushed revered tones, and to read about how it's supposed to be driven; on it's bloody doorhandles. Thank you.

An absolutely top weekend though, I have never so much exotica in one place!

Good article, sounds like a great event. But on another pedantic note: it's biennial not bi-annual. Unless it's twice a year. Which it isn't.

What a weekend, jealous!
I want an E30 M3 badly now, i have seen RHD converted examples in the past. What are peoples opinions on these?

Contemporary reviews in 1986 of the 190E 2.3-16, RHD M3, and Sierra Cosworth put the M3 last on handling; the lazy steering making it awkward to cope with it's wayward back end.

DVLA have it listed with a 4988cc engine - that's more BMW than Lambo, surely? So, the sleuth in me made me dig deeper - looks like it could be the car as seen at www.v12diablo.co.uk

Had a great weekend too. The old 840 purred along, and thank the Lord I topped up the A/C! 37.5 Degrees at one stage with no shade. All 11 of us were sitting behind the main grandstand on Saturday night, watching the world unfold. It resembled the evacuation from Saigon with mopeds, £4000000 cars and old Jeeps going to and fro, for hours on end. I just hope the 'Ealth and Safety knobs never get involved.
Great time had by all
Who collected most Le Mans eco cups?
