Just after a small rain shower I was doing approx 85mph and hit a puddle on the A11.. Aquaplained into central reservation and spun nose to tail three times coming to a standstill in the fast lane. Had the roof cut off and ambulance to hospital and had fractured my back in two places. All healed now but hurt like hell at the time.

The amazing thing is it was rush hour at 4pm on a Friday evening on a busy dual carriageway and didn't hit another car and the car behind me was being driven by a paramedic who held me still in the car until the ambulance and fire crew turned up. Amazing luck

Yeah not a hope I'd allow anybody to sit in mine when there is the possibility of claiming back injuries - he'll they'd be kicked out long before the lay could get the jaws of life removed!

Grow up. The entire lane was probably doing 85mph.

Thank you! I wasn't exactly breaking land speed records. My point was it was busy, rush hour on the A11 and luckily no other vehicle was involved either being hit by me or hitting me which would have made things much worse.

I can change it to "77mph" for the PC brigade if it makes you sleep better at night

I'd guess the actual lane was completely stationary, the cars on might have all been doing 85 though getmecoat

Hit by a drunk driver at about 3pm. Barely left a mark on his Mitsubishi Pajero, one dead Skoda, and a lesson learnt of never resting your thumb over the airbag. Nearly four years on and my thumb still isn't as flexible as the other.
That looks a bit like Oldmeldrum or similar? Very NE buildings.

Well if we're going down that route the road would have been moving at about 600mph around the earths axis. Driving flat out heading west would be the best thing, in order to be closer to the speed limit.

Never wise to admit to speeding in poor conditions whilst disclosing your car registration, name and accident location details on an easily searchable internet forum.

Or the rear end of other cars it seems . . .
If that is aimed at me, how do you know what I crashed into and what caused the accident?

Why? The police aren't going to prosecute him at this stage, there's no proof of his speed anyway, and insurance exists to cover mistakes which is exactly what this was.

It's way better than it used to be - the only issue for me is I dislike the fact you search for a "term" ie "Farage poster" but it returns all the posts with both "Farage" and "poster" (It was related to a thread in NP&E - sorry)

This means you end up clicking on the detail to bring up one post under each thread

then expand all the posts

but it's still better than when it didn't work at all

Unless another PH'r has found a way of making it search for a complete string "Farage Poster" (Because quotation marks don't work)

I might stick this in website feedback and see if the techies have a clue
