I have the 159 2.4JTDm, and it's been great, over 90k miles now, only problem it had (65k mi) was the inlet valves that got clogged up and needed replacing.

No. The 156 2.4 (especially the 10 valve) is a strong simple engine.
Zespak's post above refers to a 159.

However Hora, I would fear for your mental health if you bought an Alfa.
They're not for worryheads.

Sorry, as someone pointed out it's probably a completely different engine, I'm talking about the 2.4 20v multijet.
