A shed load of money for a 911 but a shed load of performance for the money.

I wonder how it compares to the new Noble M600, that is also silly money for silly performance.

If it were my money, I would shop closer to home, Ultima GTR would cover all bases on track better and more stylishly, and leave you change (about £100k) to buy something to go to the shops in.
I know it'a all subjective....but, the Ultima is many (good) things. Stylish ain't one of them!
Agreed... also... which would you really, really rather have... a tin GRP can upstart that, granted, can go veryveryveryfast... or a beautiful, beautifully engineered car that you could happily drive from Blighty to Deutschland to go and experience the 'Ring in comfort, blast it round there and then quietly zip home in? I wouldn't like to be in the Ultima for that trip.

I've never been a huge fan of Porsche, but this really does appeal on every level to me... which is a first. If I had £167k, I would. But I don't. frown

What a stonking motor. Looks good in white I reckon. Bonnet colour is no big deal (can be changed if need be) - it's a special edition afterall.

lol @ people mentioning ultimas and Nobles

it's like mentioning the Burlington Arrow in a thread about Caterham R500s

just because the quarter mile time is similar, doesn't mean the cars are even remotely similar ....

You can pick up a boggo 997 Gt2 for what, £100k now?
I would be interested to know how far you could get with £60k spent upgrading one of those yourself.
Why not buy a GTR and spend a £100K. It's all about the pose value. TBH, we'll see 1 or 2 of these outside Harrods soon. I reckon of the 500 less than 10 will see barrier at the 'ring

Nice but personally the normal 997 GT2 is plenty fast enough and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Porsche Swindon, so presumably a genuine car.

If you sell your house you rent.

However all are sold so you cannot buy one and I'm guessing all 500 will rarely come up for sale. Why not get yourself a 996 gt2 for £45-60k bloody good car nutter car really but it's still totally cool

OR a 993 GT2 which is the one you want a proper racing car not a road car

I meant it is comparing a new car with a used car (in this case with 10k miles on the clock)

Ooooh, just under three pages before the Ultima appeared.

Jesus, that must be exciting.
Exciting is not the word I would use. Bloody scary more like.

Really love this car. Just wish it was 100K less.
A clio cup car with about 200bhp will be bouncing off the rev limiter in top at the bottom of the foxhole, that's about 150mph, so 170mph from a crazy (nice) Porsche is not that impressive. 180mph approaching Schwedenkreuz is pretty quick though!

Sounds like driving a GT3.

The standard GT2 feels a little dissapointing after a GT3 but this sounds as if they have answered that.

Not totally fair, the Ultima can also set pretty decent lap times. However it is a very different car to the GT2RS, but it should be given the price.

Many thanks for your comments,

The build is definitely 500, not 300...

A black, RHD GT2 RS was at the launch - it's destined for the Silverstone Centre.

Cheers,
