I've won something pretty amazing online
Discussion
Alun, a quick question for you- on BOTB, you have a list of cars you could win, and the deal is it's the base spec model, and you'd have to pay for optional extras. Yet I notice you got a preregistered dealer Cayman (with better spec) rather than a brand new one. How does this work exactly, and what are the limits? For example, you won a Cayman, and you have a Cayman. Could you have negotiated a 911 or Boxster S for example? Where do you (or BOTB) draw the line, and who chooses the dealer? Just interested, because I'd love to know how flexible the prize is! Cheers.

I could have added cash to get ANY car. The prize effectively is the top value prize listed eg circa £40k for a Cayman including VAT or £25k in cash. BOTB are very flexible about what you can buy with your prize and genuinely happy when you win! You can find a dealer or you can let BOTB take you to one. We went to the Porsche dealer on the A4 in Chiswick as that was convenient for both of us.
Although they are very helpful obviously BOTB have to make sure they are doing everything by the rules so don't think by my comments above they did what they fancied!

Thanks for the reply- pretty cool! I wonder how it works for overseas winners (I'm in Switzerland)- as there is some huge discrepancies in prices of the Supercar prizes. e.g. A Bentley Continental GTC would cost way more than a 911 turbo for example. Hmm, got me itching to play BOTB again- even though I'm absolutely rubbish at spot the ball! You can find a dealer or you can let BOTB take you to one. Their website FAQ says:"We deliver the car anywhere in the world free of charge but naturally there are some conditions associated with this - please see the full terms and conditions for more details.
If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.
The main issue can be import duties into certain countries which we may not pay for. However, if these circumstance arise, it may be preferable to take the cash alternative and then buy the equivalent car in your country....we can of course assist with this."
also
"In the EU the prize will be delivered with UK VAT paid but any further costs (VAT/taxes/import duties/registration costs due in the destination/country of final registration) will be the responsibility of the prize Winner.
In all other countries the prize will be shipped (net of all taxes) to the nearest port and any applicable import duties/taxes/registration costs due in the destination country will be the responsibility of the prize Winner. The promoter reserves the right not to deliver to certain countries. Please note that all our cars are supplied in the UK and therefore if exported may not be road legal in the destination country. It is the winner’s responsibility to check this and choose an alternative car or take the cash alternative if appropriate."
Good luck!

Keep your eyes open for something VERY special from BOTB in March chaps - I guarantee you'll be spending more than you'd planned on entries!
(I do a lot of work for BOTB, write their blog, do their web graphics etc)
Interesting, i have £200 of credit to use after my near miss.(I do a lot of work for BOTB, write their blog, do their web graphics etc)
PH search works!
Was looking for stuff on BOTB and found this...Well done Alan.
I wasn't expecting to find a winners thread on PH.....
Anyway..
So quite a few players on here then....Only been playing for the last few comps.
Currently playing for the V8 Vantage which I regret.... I should've gone for the 997 C4S. So, using sods law I should be the next winner of the BOTB and getting the AMV8. If that makes sense.
