I've seen them a few times but have always been put off with having to "guess" where the ball is as opposed to having a 1:whatever chance of winning.

Sweet prize and enjoy.

Congrats Alun, glad that a PHer has won.

I work with BOTB a lot (as you know i do the blog for them - see my profile for the link everyone else), and i feel bad when people say it looks like a scam as i know how hard they all work and how far they go to make sure it's all fair. But to be honest, i wondered it myself before i started working with them!

I've had a punt a couple of times whilst in the airport. All part of the holiday mood, which I guess BOTB know all too well...biggrin

Yeah, the spot the ball thing bothered me a bit as I know nothing about Football!

The way it works is a FIFA referee comes in to the offices and picks the spot where they think it is so it's as much an assumed guess as you make really, maybe a bit more informed but not that different.

Wouldn't it be easier to use the original photo with the ball in it?

Actually, just realised it would be too easy to cheat then as some may have seen the original. I'm confused now.

The fifa ref sees the same pic as we do - and also guesses where the ball may have been - this guess is officially recorded and the coordinates are thus born..... closest punter to said coordinates bags the prize.

Well done Alun.

Brilliant, well done!
Only seen a stand once when I was at Heathrow, wanted a do but couldn't afford.
What are the rules regarding you selling it? Could you sell it straight away and pocket the cash or do you have to keep it a set amount of time?

I can't help but think the plates are the wrong way round.

The cabs sort of says Boxster and the other starts with LC which could be london cab.
Why would you want a Cayman with a number plate that says Boxter wink

I can sell it immediately if I want to. I'm going to enjoy owning a Porsche for a while before I give selling it any thought.

Well I'm sitting in the departure lounge at Heathrow at the moment. I was happily resisting the temptation of the white R8 on the BOTB stand, but then I saw this thread and now I'm £20 down...

The power of Porsche envy...

Congratulations OP - brilliant!
