All of the above are reasonable, yet you somehow appear to have been cynical and sceptical, but Im not sure what about or in what context?
As to the other poster about having never seen a thread like this on PH before, it was very similar with the Sagaris. Again, another emotional one!
P.S. Matt if you see this, dont breathe a *fking* word to your missus!

Stunning car, really very nice and soo much different to the rest. I'd just want to change that grille, despite it being traditional Morgan, it's just tto close to the BUg for my taste. Simply make it flush with the bodywork and not recessed like the Bug and I think it would look even better. Nice one Morgan

good on Morgan , a great effort.
lets hope its not a limited edition .
a question for those puttung deposits down... are you using the dealer network or factory ?
a question for someone with inside information... how many orders placed so far ?
What on earth do you mean by limited edition? How many do you think they will be producing? What do you think the current Morgan business model is?lets hope its not a limited edition .

What on earth do you mean by limited edition?
well the aeromax was a 100 cars
the supersport is a limited run of 250 ? cars
How many do you think they will be producing?
as many as the aero !
do you see the demand there for this car ? not just in the uk , but more importantly america and europe.
plus there are two more models to come
If you read between the lines the Eva has not been announced as a limited edition. The PR gumpf says the 'first 100 cars will be available in 2012' which doesn't mean there is any definite limit, just that there won't be more than 100 cars in the first year of production. If someone has seen different by all means correct me. Not to say that there may be a cap on production at some point, but I haven't seen it announced anywhere
so fart.
However, given the Morgan ethos and production cycle, it's unlikely that the Eva will see more than a couple of hundred units limited or not.
Even the Series 1 Aero produced for around 5 years was less than 400 units.
Sure the Aeromax is a 'limited' run of 100 cars - which has helped its residuals, but in Aero terms it's still more common than the Series II, and around about the same as the series IV according to my rudimentatry maths.
When MMC says the supersports is limited to 250 units (well it did say that, it may be 150 or 175 from what I've been told by various folks and perhaps a Supersports owner can tell us the true number) my suspicion is that the car will be produced at a high rate (just under 100 per year) for about 2 years (which given the Morgan committment to new models every 2 years Charles has made makes complete sense).
The only thing that an announcement of a limited status will make is potentially to the residuals. Limiting the Aeromax to 100 units, it being darn pretty and very well advertised as a result of it's limited status and good looks mean that these are in general trading at a small profit 2 years on.
Otherwise no other Aero derivative is doing this. Having said that their generally limited availability due to the small production runs rather than any artificial limitations means that they hold their value well. Series 1 Aeros at 10 years old still have on average around 64% of their initial value in a current sale price. For later derivatives it's considerably more, and now the line has ended for the Aero it's generally anticipated they will slowly appreciate from currenty levels. So from a car perspective, modern Morgans are a pretty safe place to park car money..
I'd expect the Eva / Supersports to follow similar gentle depreciation curves to the Aero, while the Aeromax should in theory gradually appreciate like a true collectors piece. Still who knows..
In terms of the more important side of things, regardless of an artificial limitation on numbers it's pretty unlikely you'll park next to another Eva in the office car park. May will go to Europe and the US too.
HAving said that it's unlikely that they will drive a lot of speculation as the (apparrent) fact that these will not be limited means you might as well hang on and spec your own car to exactly your preferred specification. Which is what I'm hoping to do...
