"Stop wasting money on cars"

Said to me by someone who spent more on a Civic than I spent in total buying an Elise, two RX7s, an MX5, 535, 325, 320 and a Nissan Silvia.

Well everything is relative. If it is the S Type R, it probably does drink a fair bit. The fact it doesn't bother you is by the by surely?

Perhaps I should've explained the context....

She preaches at me that I should be happy with a simple a-b transport type heap.. Then on the drive they have:

1964 230sl pagoda
1984 280ce
1997 db7 volante
2001 s type v6
2006 shogun sport

Yet my £900 Mondeo or £4k Saab is a waste?

"Can you tell me what these metal pencil sharpenings are on the dipstick? The car went all loud and slow the other day and now it can only do short distances..."

No oil, 3 yr old fiesta, never checked anything from new. Facepalm

Heard many a time (mainly chapettes) - "oh, is the MOT different from servicing then?" Oil like molasses.

To be fair Dave you are being a bit selective there, you haven't mentioned your two other cars (one of which is more rust than car)

Erm... I thought it was the L85A3 now.
Its called the L85A3 but its just an A2 with a different fore grip and a quick release bipod. also due to the general shortage of funds throughout the MOD we currently only fit the new grips when on ops and have to convert back to A2 spec when in the uk so the next deployment can use the bits. It's the same with the SUSAT optical sights for most non infantry units too who convert back to iron sights. rolleyes

hence we just call them all SA80s
Quick release bipod is right.. operate and watch the legs quickly release themselves from the rest of it. Also convinced that the new rail was just another measure to see if they could manage to extend the time taken to properly clean a rifle even further.

The comment didnt worry me, it was more the fact the conversation went "hello, i bet that drinks alot" as opposed to "hello, i like your new car, are you please with it?" or "is it petrol of diesel?"
