No they didn't. Don't believe everything you read on the 'Net. You'll notice it says the engine was derived from the Rover V8. That too is bks.

No it isn't. David Wood's V64V shares no dimensions with the Rover (ex-Buick) V8.

Better get ready with that delete button again.

I'm looking forward to this.

Be nice. The prototype car had a Rover V8 cut n shut down to 6 cylinders and 2.5 litres.

O/T They did it at a time when Aston Martin were struggling and there was talk of a smaller car. I wrote to the Chairman of AML suggesting that, if Rover could do it with their V8, Aston Martin could it with theirs. I had a very nice letter back from Victor Gauntlett.

Yes, but that had NOTHING to do with the V64V. I think to come on THIS thread particularly and start trying to contradict someone, you either know your subject or it's going to end badly.
Particularly if you are someone who deleted all their posts LAST time they got into a discussion with me that ended badly for them... smile

That there must be something very dodgy about my 650£ BMW 520.
Or that I had massive luck and stumbled upon the bargain of the century.

Buick? In the 6R4? rofl

I don't make out anything of the sort, but I do make a point of knowing any car I own inside out.

Back again?? As already discussed the development cars ran with a cut down Rover V8, NO homologated cars ever did. They used the V64V which is actually a bespoke engine which used a fair few DFV parts.
Took a while to find that, didn't it? Any luck with the Maestro stuff yet?

You should try not wasting your time cutting and pasting bks off the 'Net. It's getting a bit embarrassing now. Save us all from internet experts!

Ask someone who's owned one.
Oh.... me perhaps!
