When I was looking to p/x my Golf GTI the salesman asked if it was petrol or diesel. A surprising amount of people ask.

I once got told by the Peugeot main dealer parts bloke that he didn't have any of the bits I wanted because my 306 was "quite uncommon" and then when I looked at him in bewilderment he got confused and asked if the 306 was the 4X4 model that they did.

Very strange.

I think he must have been helping out in a department that wasn't his as he didn't have a clue. All i wanted was window clips.

Colleagues were I work.

Why do you have a box in your boot with various tools and car related kit like, compressed pump, jump leads, oil etc.

Your just some weird car bore.

Sometime in the future...

Oh my car has a flat tyre, battery or run dry of oil can assist me knowing you have the necessary kit in your car and I have failed to be prepared as only car geeks do that.

The amount of gear you cart around is directly proportional to your own perceived likelihood of breaking down smile My old car even has a supply of electricians' tape, scissors, cable ties in the glovebox, as well as jump leads, toolkit, spare etc in the boot smile

The fckwits I see scraping their windscreen with a credit card - come on people, it's winter. Buy a proper car scraper and/or some deicer FFS!

I can't believe someone using a bank card to scrape their windows upsets you enough that you'd post about it on the internet tbh

I tried using my B&Q discount card to clear the ice from my windscreen. It was rubbish! It only got 25% off.

I was speaking to a colleague at work this morning that had to scrape the ice of her car before setting off. She used a CD case as that’s all she had to hand and at this point she gets a call from the MIL asking how she can get the ice off of the windscreen. The colleague says “use a CD like I did” and the mother in law replies with “I don’t want to damage my Olly Murs CD, it’ll bend and could scratch the CD”

Technically not too bad but most people would realise she means the case and not the actual CD.

considering how available proper scrapers are, it's completely and actively retarded for someone to not have one, and to be sufficiently unprepared as to go hunting around for a straight edge in their pockets.

I had a 2010 Jag XF from 2 years old, and it had 2 massive dead areas in the heated screen. When they replaced it under warranty, the new one had a dead area too.

While I was waiting in the barbers today 2 yoofs were talking about their learning to drive experiences. They seemed like nice lads and quite sensible. They were taking about cars and one said how his boss "took me out in him Bee Emm" then commented how fast it was. T'other lad said that those had fuel injection or something which was why they were so fast.
