t the front where they usually go; radiators are intercoolers. Terminological inexactitude rools K.O.

Or it might be bullst, who knows.
If she meant the radiator, why would it have been uprated?
If you tune an engine to produce more power there is an increase in the amount of waste heat that needs to be removed proportional to that power increase; the standard 'radiator' may not be up to the task.
IIRC, in reply she said she meant the air cleaner.

From that Mumsnet thread:

"My car has alloys. 18inch Wolfrace alloys, to be precise. it also has low profile run flat tyres (which I know how to change). it also has a 3.2l naturally aspirated V6 engine with an uprated intercooler which pulls 308 bhp and has an average MPG consumption of 29 (if I'm careful!)

I, and many other "ladies", do know quite a bit more about our cars than just how to change a tyre....hmm"

Can't tell whether she's throwing out a whoosh parrott or just plain clueless? laugh
Where the hell does an intercooler go on a NA engine?!
At the front where they usually go; radiators are intercoolers.
Radiators are intercoolers?
Radiators are intercoolers.
Radiators are heat exchangers, as are intercoolers, but radiators are not intercoolers and most intercoolers are not intercoolers but rather aftercoolers, depending on how you define inter as they are usually at least intermediate to the charger and the engine, you can't really call a radiator intermediate though, I mean everything is intermediate to something but that's tenuous.

Sounds to me though that she was trying to sound clever by stringing together stuff she heard on F&F. Or was "trolling all along" (honest). So even the ones who sound/think they are clever.. well I can't see how anyone with any intelligence would actually spend time there.

Except no one in the history of the English language has referred to a radiator as an intercooler, unless they're purposely being a pratt.

R lass has told me on multiple occasions that she's nearly spun out whilst driving, a few of the times I have been in the car and we've gone round a roundabout at around 20mph and she says that the back end is going :s try to explain to her that there is no way the car is possibly experiencing any oversteer and the "back end didn't go at all" but she persists that it did. She's also adamant that her 52 plate MINI One with 80k on it is worth £3500.

I give in.

Funnily enough we have a "driving experience" booked for May so that should be a laugh, not sure how good they are like, another one that's golden is she likes to tell me how dangerous my driving is when I use more than one lane to go across a roundabout when there are no other cars anywhere near but it's a big no no for crossing the white line.
