'If you want to exceed 70MPH, you should do it on a racetrack. Why do it on the M40?'
Because there aren't any racetracks connecting Warwick and Beaconsfield, racetracks go round in circles and are therefore no use to me in getting to an urgent appointment. I don't drive at 71MPH simply because I want to see what my speedometer looks like at that speed.

For the above.
Remap may be possible depending on car and engine.
I have a print out of a remap done at a place I wish to remap my own car.
They took a standard 2.7 tdv6 disco 3 from 188 to 240bhp and torque from 325 to 412 lbft.
That's a 52 bhp increase so 80 may be doable. However, engine and car dependant.
However, the speed claims are beyond bullst.

Any print outs that have been laminated instantly become fact.
Actually, 80bhp from a map is probably possible. For example the Revo stage 1 map for the Golf Ed30 takes it from 230bhp to 305bhp.

A bit like the regular C63 going from 450 to 520 with just a remap. That's a hell of a lot for an NA engine but it's intentionally held back in standard form.
Normally 20% is considered good.
I guess the gains are so huge on the Edition 35 because of the bigger turbo. That's more a case of it being mapped quite conservatively from factory, no?
There's a similarly eye opening figure for the Mk7 GTi although that's got a lot to do with it being under rated from factory.
