In fact Audi thinks it is such an attractive showroom proposition that nearly 40 percent of sales are forecast to be switchers from its own A5, and A6 saloon and Avant models.
I wonder how many of those will simply be people confused about which model is which as they all look pretty much the same and frankly even the sizes aren't that far off anymore.

I really can't believe the extent to which people are taken in by all this "name engineering".

The Mercedes CLS is very nice ..... but IT'S REALLY JUST A FOUR DOOR SALOON.

The 5 Series "GT" and the Audi A5 and A7 "Sportbacks" are JUST 5 DOOR HATCHBACKS

There is really not much difference between the basic silhouette of the A7 and a Rover SD1 - or a 1980s Vauxhall Cavalier.

People can be so bloody gullible. It's just an excuse to charge shed loads of cash for something which is not much different from other (cheaper) cars in the range.

Yours sincerely

The good news is that the interior will come across to the A6.

I'm can't see the advantage of having a bigger car with less load space - I think I'll stick with an A6 Avant...

But people are idiots..did you not get that memo? Did you not see the queue outside the apple store for the Ipad? products don't even need to serve a function now to be successful, as long as the image and marketing are right people will buy.

So, so true. Image orientated ste that solves a problem you never knew you had. Standby for the Apple/Audi crossover.

the rear end is nasty .. does not gel or flow with the rest of the car.

no elegance at all to the design.

bland too.

and that Audi face is getting very boring

That new Audi nav with Google earth looks amazing.
BMW have had it on most of their cars with nav for the last couple of years

I agree with the "dog having a ste" look. A lot have commented on the look of the front, but I think the front is the most appealing part of Audi cars these days.

Strangely, as much as I dislike the thought of actually owning an Audi, I quite like that.

The dashboard is by far the best looking one, I have seen for quite some time.

I hate the way Audi are just recycling the same style throughout their range, they have little imagination. From the front all of their cars look the same, although maybe this is what they are aiming for in assigning a specific identity throughout their model range.

Moreover, the apppear to be "doing a BMW" in creating niches within their range that simply don't exist. This particular model just smacks of a response to BMW's 5 series GT (that was equally pointless).

It's nothing like a CLS, the latter is streets ahead aesthetically, even today the upside down banana shape looks great.

That said, Audi interiors look first rate. Externally though they all look the same and the engines are a little weedy (thanks Europe).

Whilst it's not quite as ugly as the 5-series GT, it's not exactly pretty is it?

You have been wooed by it's sporty back. Maybe Audi have got it right?

People do seem to be falling prey to the charms of it's sporty back. Whatever they might be.
