I think it's a great looking car. Is it as nice as the E24 though?

I don't understand comments like this, what do you prefer about the old E24 to this? Genuine question not taking the piss.
It makes a design statement, and is unmistakable - a classic, basically it's a handsome car.

What do you like about the new design?

Come on take away the oversized grill and the badges, and it could be from some generic far Eastern manufacturer, nothing about it says BMW

That is simply beautiful, love that still as much now as when I was a kid.

That was always the car I wanted as a kid, M635csi. Mates dad had a 528i of the same generation - as close as I ever got. Ah well.

The new 6 series, ok but is blended design generic rather than a genuine design statement of a gentleman's express, IMHO obviously smile

+1

The original 6 was one of the best looking bmws ever built, the new one is nothing special at all.

I like the back, the front looks like a retard.

Maybe they will give it an M Sport kit this time?

People are always so critical of BMW's designs however it doesn't stop them selling does it? I think this is fantastic looking car and compares favourably to the E-Class coupe pictured in this thread.

Huh? Z1 inspiration?!
You don't see it?

'fraid not.

As said, more of a larger 3 series with a fair amount of Jag in there.

Think it's OK, not wildly exciting but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Not that much if you read my earlier post, I think its just OK, 6/10. Prefer it to the older models though simply as it looks more modern and has a nicer interior and better engines etc.

The car looks really crap at this angle.

Otherwise it looks very, very nice - a massive departure from BMWs previous offerings.
I think the front is terrible, the rest is nicer than typical BMW fare but doesn't quite meet the mark for me. Perhaps it gels in the flesh, hope it does...because I can see the potential.

BMW build and always have built quality cars, granted they might not always be the most beautiful but there is no point in trying to question their engineering excellence, i just wonder why it is that people on here and elsewhere find it fashionable to slate them as they do ?

Looks a bit like an 8 series to me, although with more modern detailing. On the current 6 series the front looks good and the rear is a complete mess, looks like they've gone the other way on this one...

The front end looks too big for the rest of the car and I think that weird crease behind the front wheels has something to do with that...

The rear side view , just over the wheel, is so wrong
