Great write up! Did you become addicted to the pops and bangs on the overrun??
Oh That was part of me hoofing it to hear the exhaust note, then slowing to hear the pops and bangs. Over the Peaks it sounded like a full-on battleground!
I'd imagine that an SLS being followed by an Aston V8 Vantage N420 with the flaps open would sound a bit like a Spitfire Vs Messerschmidt dogfight!

I really enjoyed reading that, a really good write up.
How long have you been a member of Ecurie 25? I've always been interested in these types of clubs but have always had a few reservations, especially after a couple of them folded recently.
I've been a member for over 4 years now, since it began. If you search the forums for 'ecurie25' you'll get many threads where it has been discussed, and where i've chipped in with my 2p's worth. I won't bore people with it again here! How long have you been a member of Ecurie 25? You can read my interview with the CEO of e25 on my blog here. It goes some way to explaining why e25 has survived when others haven't.
Awesome car, I absolutely love the SLS. A lot of people I know don't like it, but they saw it as "just another Merc" - not quite I think!
Just been looking on the Ecurie25 website, looks very slick and their fleet has some decent cars. The GTR they have looks awesome, I'd love to take one of those out for a spin. Then I saw the membership price...£12,000 a year!

How easy is it to close the doors from sitting in the car?
Excellent write up though.. I'm not a massive fan of the back 3/4 view but front, front 3/4 is lovely!
Well as I said I'm pretty tall, with quite long arms, and I had to really stretch up to pull it down when sat in the seat.Excellent write up though.. I'm not a massive fan of the back 3/4 view but front, front 3/4 is lovely!
It's a small point, but by doing that, if you're wearing a shirt tucked into your trousers, it will invariably come out by stretching up like that, meaning you have to re-dress yoruself when you get out. Small point, but would get frustrating...

Good write up but I have to say I am uninspired by the looks of the SLS, no doubt the noise is immense if it is an improvement on the SL55 and the C63 that both sound like thunder turned up to 11. I'd love to drive one, would love to own one for the noise and how useable they are as a car while being stupid fast but wouldn't buy one as a thing of beauty.

Looks great!
Is there not alot of demand within e25 for particular cars? Say if you wanted to take the SLS on a certain weekend, are there not other people looking to do the same? How do they share the cars, and make sure everyone gets an equal selection?
Well yes, there is. But generally they buy 2 of the latest cars to help with this. You can book a car a month ahead, but you also get some wildcards so you can book a car at any point in the year. From memory I've only not been able to get the car i wanted at the time i wanted twice, and both times a suitable alternative was offered. Is there not alot of demand within e25 for particular cars? I saw an SLS in the flesh for the first time yesterday going round the Bristol ring road (nr Yate). I has certainly got a presence on the road. Wider and squatter than I expected.
I appreciate it's wonderful car but my money would probably go elsewhere.
Thanks for sharing, great write up
