Not motoring unless you count a certain E-type I guess, but...

A friend works in one of the music shops on Denmark Street and she spent a good 15 minutes chatting to a bloke with a North American accent before he left the shop. It was only after he left that one of her colleagues pointed out it was Mike Myers.

how do you know Bev, then? good lord...a small world indeed smile

Re: Original post, I think Hammersmith is a good bet to see TV personalities due to its proximity to BBC TV Centre.

I worked in Hammersmith about 5 years ago and saw impressionist Alistair McGowan walking down the street.

I also saw Bill Bailey who was in Boots in the photography section - he was taller than expected.

Whilst working in Hammersmith, the company I worked for had it's Xmas do in a posh London restaurant and we went to a nearby London hotels bar for pre-dinner drinks and Ross Kemp was in there.

Other famous people I have seen are:

Bruce Willis visited my local high st with his rather large minder in tow when he was filming The Fifth Element at Pinewood Studios.

Ronnie Corbett at Marrakech airport in 2008 with his wife who is talller (slightly) than him.

However, without doubt, my most impressive is Edd China about 4 years ago in my local Sainsbury's!

Did he whisper 'awooga' in your ear and pat you on the fanny ?
I don't think there's many of us left who will get that.

I take it there was no Karaoke. If there was, I'm glad I'm 60 or so miles away! wink

My 'spots' are Stephen Mangon (sp?) (the goofball off the old Barclaycard adverts) and that smoothy boss out of 'The Office', I think his name is Patrick Baladi.

They were filming something on the platform at Stafford station. Not realising this, I walked in between them - interrupting filming (I didn't recognise them until afterwards).

A number of years ago I crossed paths with Steve McFadden, (?), y'know, one of them Mitchell brothers off of that Deadenders on the telly.

He was in an American car showroom in Boxmoor, Herts.

Apparently he, "Already had a Jag but wanted a family car.", while perusing a Cadillac of some description. :-/

Kelly Jones (of Stereophonics fame) lives just around the corner from me, often see him popping to Tesco Express. First time I spotted him I must've been staring a bit too blatantly so he gave me a nod and a wink... He drives a Cayenne.

Ran past Thierry Henry (twice) in a London Park a while back, he was walking along with his kid and lovely looking girlfriend.
Very tall and lanky looking.

Also saw Valentino Rossi on a scooter in central london about two years ago.

rofl

Are her brother by any chance? If so, was being told about your Elise and "some other form of Lotus, it might have been an Esprit" over the weekend!

I've been going out with Bev's mate Rachael for about five years. smile

Oliver Reed hosted my parents first wedding anniversary out in what was then Rhodesia when he was filming "the lion of the desert" My dad was a carpenter on set and Oliver Reed was one of the main actors in the film, My dad had worked on a few films with him before and when Reed found out that my mum was over to celebrate he arranged for a party to be held, all the booze rations, all the generators, all laid out for them and the crew, anyone who didn't turn up with there drink was turned away by Oliver Reeds and his minder.

Was apparently a very nice very down to earth bloke.

Kind of motoring related. I went to the Chelsea Auto Legends car show on 4th September and ended up standing near to James Martin and Jay Kay at the bar. Not the fenced off VIP bar, just the regular bar open to anyone.

I saw Eddie Kidd at Gatwick back in the 90's, the day before he went into a coma through some bike accident. Got a photo with my arm around him when I was sufficiently pissed up to make an arse of myself to do so.

How is living in Hammersmith "keeping it real"? confused
I suppose it's because when most people become really famous, they bolt it off to the countryside, or some gated development in the stockbroker belt where they can live away from anyone who might want to talk to them. It's nice to see James May finds things like living close to his old mates and popping down his local for a few pints and a game of darts more important than the prospect of being bothered by fans he'd now find 'irritating', which demonstrates to me that he's unpretentious and hasn't lost touch with reality.
yes

Nothing more. Nothing less.
