Surely the real story of the car ends after the 5th picture?
Yes - whilst the RV team and project are very interesting, and I guess that the new car is going to wear the same VRM at some point, the story isn't about the original Victor any more, is it? Not to knock the effort, just would have been good to see the original car continue it's reincarnations.
Sorry,i'm not with you.It isn't about the original Victor anymore? If you want to be pedantic about it then in about 1984 it wasn't about the original Victor. I've spent nigh on 26 years modifying the car utilising the std victor body shape. I've also spent the last 2 years struggling to make the car work with the power it has.
I could try until doomsday but it will never run low 6s.high 5's in it's old state. Hence the upgrade. Red victor 2 was a full tube framed chassis anyway so that is being upgraded to a full chrome moly chassis. The floorpan went in 1997...
It is always about the "red victor" line, wether it is 1 or 20. It's about upgrading and modifying till i'm satisfied we've reached the goals we set. This upgrade is what is needed for the particular goals we've set,BUT... it's still a Victor and still part of the Red Victor line.
I'd really appreciate if people wouldn't insult my intelligence and tell me what my own car is or isn't.thumbup
Thanks again to PH for making us their car to run the smiley on. It means when we race or go anywhere we're part of the PH massive..biggrin

Lovely piece of machinery in all its guises. I remember them when I was a kid but have only realised after looking at the pics now, the first two, their similarity with some Aussie muscle.

Well you get to the end of the high street and turn right..biggrin
It's by one of the caravan parks in Aberystwyth.
We used to drive up to that area when the weather was nice. Barmouth,Harlech,Portmadoc etc. It was a nice drive through the mountains. Kids loved it too!

Some brilliant pics and if I dare say those of the engine getmecoat.

Always good to see someone willing to go that extra mile on something.

I remember seeing the Red Victor on Fifth Gear (I think?) and thinking wow! A wonderful piece of machinery.

For those that think it isn't the same as the standard car presumably you think that BSB, WSB, BTCC, WRC etc should not be able to use the same bodies and state they are from that manufacturer? After all none are actually the same vehicle and are all heavily modified.

Jaysus Mary and Joseph, those pictures really give you an idea of how much pure force and energy is (well, was) at work in that engine....

Hi Andy,

Think I mentioned before, that my first ever car in 1970 was a 1967 Maroon Vauxhall Victor, with a bench front seat and column change....MDB 932F.....£525

Not quite as fast as yours though...biggrin

I can honestly say I have never been into drag racing but when I saw red victor on tv nad then realised that it was a car really local to me I took an interest.
Shortly afterwards the redvictor came past me on a trailer and I was really 'into it'.
Well done to all involved in this project and long may she continue!
