false economy,
service history (cambelt/plugs/filters/oils)
How's that different to most cars in this price bracket? service history (cambelt/plugs/filters/oils)
belt change is same as any other car...no problems with access on these engines etc.
My dad purchased a brand new C70 T5 back in '99, imported from Belgium (saved over £7000 I think) in the same colour. Will always have fond memories of these as I borrowed it to my school prom!
Do remember it having rock solid suspension though, as such, it didn't ride very well.
Didn't TWR have something to do with the suspension development on these?
Great SOTW!

I have a T5 for my motorway cruising in the mornings, brillliant car.
Its a 98 car with 90k ish miles on it. Zero creaks or rattles, sound system is better then the 4k system in my other car and the seats are more comfy then the ones in the SL55 I used to own.
I'm seriously struggling to find a replacement, was bought as a quick stop gap last winter when the snow fell but is still with me now!

aye once you've spent time in a Volvo it is a hard brand to get away from Its a 98 car with 90k ish miles on it. Zero creaks or rattles, sound system is better then the 4k system in my other car and the seats are more comfy then the ones in the SL55 I used to own.

In terms of "modern metal for your buck" this is probably nigh-on impossible to beat. I'm sorely tempted- now I wonder how much the insurance will be?
you won't like itthey are rubbish
they are slow
they are for old people
they are dull
....+ all the other stupid things ignorant people say before they own one themselves
you'd be better suited to something else
joking aside insurance is very cheap on all but the "R" badged Volvos...even the T5 models are cheap to insure

if you take any premium brand to a main dealers you will get raped...it goes without saying
Thr 2.4t is the best one to go for. It's got slightly softer suspension than the t5, without any noticeable detriment to the handling, and a much more linear power delivery, helping to prolong the life of the front tyres. Ran almost every version of these whilst working for Volvo. Remember one late night drive to brussells in a 2.4t regularly hitting an indicated 150mph.
The back seats are very comfy for a coupe.

Nice car. Suspension components tend to wear quickly but are easily replaced. As is the cambelt.
I've often hankered after one of these after owning a RICA'd S60 T5, but each time I look at the design of the dash I nearly lose my lunch. Its like an early 80s car rather than one which ran until the mid noughties.
