I like Lotus, but always think their cars are over priced, couldn't figure out why a second hand Exige was nearly 30K, looks like it should be about 22K new.
Compared to Porsches, a £60k Evora S is a bargain. Try and build a 911 for close to that..... you cant!

With an Exige you are paying more for less. If you want ultimate polished raw driver involvement little comes close and nothing at those sort of prices.

Actually plenty of things do (Caterhams, for example), but nothing that can really be used every day without too much compromise.

The only place I sense quality complaints arise from is the touch or feel of interior fittings - is this correct??
The ergonomics have been a constant source of complaint too. A rather narrow pedal box, offset significantly to the centre of the car and and poorly positioned controls.
Hmm - not a problem for the air-cooled 911 driver who may be considering one as an alternative to a newer 911...

The result of typical Lotus assembly quality control?

Porsche quote 0-62mph in 4.9seconds for a Cayman 'S' with PDK.

I wish Lotus well, but I'm afraid it looks very expensive compared to a £44k Cayman 'S', and will inevitably be a more risky ownership proposition.

The tail lights look like those on the front of a 90's E-class. Crap level of clearness from me there.

The original Evora seemed a rough gem and this version is the version with more cutting and polish, sounds almost spot on now apart from the gearchange.

I am still puzzled how it is going to fit in with the new car line up that is planned, or will it be end of line by then?

I saw my 2nd one on the M25 the other day from the back and it looks like a bigger Elise from that angle, I wondered for a second if it was the Venom!

Do you think that no matter how good it is that it will turn out to be another Europa?

Also, if they made this colour scheme an option - ooooh baby....

I'm surprised they don't offer a black roof as an option, really (although I don't like the white at all). I wonder how many customers will get the roof wrapped in black?
Based on the above image, I would.

I think you should just abandon this train of thought....

Does anyone buy a Cayman S for £44k? scratchchin

Once you add in the extras that should have been standard equipment you're surely looking at > £55k?

Dynamics aside, I wish it was better looking.

It is odd from most angles - not a looker.

Just doesn't do it does it? Inferior quality and looks to most of the opposition. Yes it has the performance now but how many buyers go for ultimate peformance? IMHO should be no more than 40k ish. Two of these or a MacLaren - no contest!

I'd like to drive one to truly experience it. By the description it could be a great GT, and it's likely to be an excellent second hand car. Wouldn't mind a removable hard top, that maintained the +2 configuration while still enabling a couple of kids in the back.
