Funny old world. I remember reading some posts on Scoobynet years ago about an RS200 that an Australian guy bought. Scared himself witless, blew it up, then sold it. Guess this was the guy you sold it too?

Sent you an email. Absolutely excellent write-ups, particularly the 288 GTO and Evoluzione piece. Wow.

I now desperately want a go in an RS200!
I consider myself fortunate to have been round the Silverstone GP track in a 288EVO, in full-on attack mode. There's only 3 in the world apparently, so that wasnt an everyday event. Re-reading my own write up got me all emotional cloud9

RS200Evos - They must be out there somewhere! AFAIK there were 16 official ones produced between 1984-1986, so I would have thought half survive if not demolished in rallyX. We used to have 2 or 3 turn up at GroupB track days, but the cars became so prohibitively expensive to run (specially fabricated parts etc) that the club called it a day some years back.

I think you might be correct. I wasn't aware he was scared witless, but unfortunately he did 'blow it up' as documented in the threads mentioned earlier. Bit annoying, especially after I kept it going for 10 yrs, doing 10-15 tracks days a year, to see someone else use the wrong fuel and half melt the head before getting to the M25 on the way to the ring frown

The chap who bought it employed various intermediaries to buy it, and never saw the car himself until driving it away on day of collection. And despite preparing 10+ pages of explicit notes and numerous emails before sale (about how to use a hybrid 1.9Lt 600 BHP engine race car) I don't think he read them.

The car is still alive and undergoing a mintification process by the current owner. I suspect hes sitting on £100k-125k at the moment !

Love it. No bad comments at all.

Cannot wait to see it completed. Well done to him.

I think the car looks amazing and look forward to the big reveal. The guy also has a MG Draft on the Valley Gas Speed shop website that looks like a beast! Hopefully the Jensen will look even better.

There is a Jensen Interceptor in Australia that has a Viper V10 engine , also fitted with a Viper 6 speed manual .

This Jensen has been rebuilt from ground up ,
The engine bay has a factory look about it - as if the car was made with a V10 - not just pulling out the 440 ci & putting a V10 in and not look at anything else - the rest of the engine bay was update as well.

list some of the items

Engine V10 GTS/R with Le-mans racing heads and Motec Computer -
Engine Dyno on this engine 675hp

Wheels 18 x 8
Brakes Front Rotors 366 mm x 32 mm curved vane cross drill
6 piston AP road brake calipers .
Rear Rotors 330 mm x 22 mm curved vane cross drill
4 piston AP road brake calipers
Front suspension Independent
rear suspension Independent

the car weight is 1492kg or 3282 lbs

the rebuild of the this car started in 2002

if you would more info about this car send a email .

Went to see this car yesterday. Absolutely stunning. Love it, hate it, whatever, but I liked it. Attention to detail is superb so far. http://www.streetsafari.com/content/view/291/27/

Big fan of this car so far.

Wheelarches look like those on a Ford Focus or my Ford Connect van. What was wrong with original Jensen shape?

Just looked at redesign for classic twin-headlights. Yuk!!!

I saw this parked on the street yesterday, Google brings up adverts so it seems it is for sale, plus this article. Not sure myself about the looks, probably prefer it without the bodykit.

Just poor quality phone photos I'm afraid

Strangely I saw another (unmodified) white Jensen Interceptor driving along about half an hour later, I hadn't seen one in years until yesterday.
