This is down to "significant one-off non-trading costs"
A bit of a euphemism there I suspect. Exactly how do you define "one-off non-trading costs" ?Directors' bonus? Pension contributions? Redundancy payments?
Most other costs e.g. interest on borrowings, corporation tax, materials etc would hardly be "one-off" or "non-trading".

considering the general mood of many forums on PH there is actually a market for someone to take a standard RR, to stiff the suspension, not sure about increasing the output (probably re-mapping only), and REDUCE that bling of the standard model.
Creating a perfect 'slipper'
You have a point. JLR could buy it and offer the 'Overfinch' as a spec level.Creating a perfect 'slipper'
I'd love a new 4.4 TDV8 RR, but they are way too over-blinged. Lets have one with nice wheels, de-chromed, even more upmarket leather interior, and a subtle Overfinch badge.
I don't know what to make of some of these comments.
Having met the MD and head of design at Overfinch, a very close friend works in the design department there, I can honestly say they are a great bunch of people.
People on here are branding their creations as abominations, but at the end of the day, they are simply creating the cars to customer specifications. If someone is willing to pay you X amount to splatter pink leather over the inside of a RR, then you'd be a fool to turn them down. Yes it upsets a few teary eyed old timers, but surely that's just business? If there is no demand for porting and polishing, why carry on offering a service that isn't wanted?
I am saying all this fully aware that the pink retrims haven't exactly worked out for them either, but having spoken to my friend last night about this, there are plenty of potential buyers lined up already...

IMO opinion they really needed to move away from this:

And get back to this:

Anyone else looked at Graeme Hunt's website? He's having a laugh isn't he? £33,000 for a '93 Range Rover (overfich? I would want solid gold door handles)- he also has a Series 1 Daimler (low miles admittedly) for which he wants nearly £29k. Condition 1 XJ's swap hands for around £7-8K max; There isn't a series 1 XJ6 on the planet worth more than £12K. Anyone buying these is either seriously stupid, or stupidly rich (or more likely both). (Styling over substance)

Yes, the RR used to be for Gentlemen and some Gentlemen wanted some extra luxury and exclusivity, perhaps a little more punch, they come with the punch nowadays but every estate has its fair share of RR Sports, one of our neighbours inexplicably sold a Full Fat discrete green one for a footballer style white RR Sport, lowers the tone you see loads of skanks driving them nowadays, Ugg booted orange Cheshire wives, it was like letting Sun readers into a Gentlemans club, and they love shiny tat, like Burberry Range Rover have sold more stuff to more people but left it as a brand richer in terms of money but it has lost something that money cant buy, the proper RR still retains some, even the original has more class than a Sport, the Evoque will be the fnal nail in RR as a classy brand.

I did- all motors are steeply priced, even if very low mileage.Maybe sells only few at a large margin to compensate for the lack of sales, not that i know how many he manages to sell.
However stock does hang around, the Overfinch has been there over 6 months and the Daimler came in at the same time.

Agreed. They were also unique in the tuning market (AFAIAA) in that they produced actual injection moulded body parts rather than fibre glass rubbish.Having met the MD and head of design at Overfinch, a very close friend works in the design department there, I can honestly say they are a great bunch of people.

Nice bunch. Shame it's come to this.

I actually don't have an issue with the visuals of that one (apart from the stupid chin spoiler). I like the wheels, and the interior's nice too. But as you state, it's got the bog-standard 2.7 TDV6 engine, which would struggle to out-punch Audley Harrison. They should've done some engine tweakery at least to keep it in line with the Overfinch of old...Agree on the comment regarding expanding to other marques. On top of what they DID that made their product desirable, the Overfinch name sounds fantastic. Here's hoping they get a passionate buyer (not Smolenski), get some strong direction, stay well away from sticking devaluing tat on vehicles and get back on track.
