Really do like that! Not being a huge fan of bodykits but the 'DIMMA' kit just looks soooo right.

Looks best on the R5 and 205 cloud9

I'll probably have to dig out the old flame suit for possible future quotes on my opinion...

It's probably because it's basically replica Group B bodywork (although it's probably best to back up the image with some serious modifications).

This and the Uno Turbo were the cars of my early childhood. I loved that turbo kick and still do. However, I also know two people whom have died in these things; they really are made of tinfoil.

Great buy for a bag.

Always had a lot of love for these, wanted one since I was 17 (26 now!) and finally got my hands on one this year.

Unfortunately it's been a nightmare, over-fueling, petrol leak, indicators don't work, dash lighting don't work, electric windows failed, sunroof leaks, cuts out, smoke comes out the engine sometimes lol... I tried I really did but it's just not for me anymore. I'm passing it on to someone who knows a lot more about the cars to sort it all out smile will always love them though!

I had a year old one in 1988 it was great fun wind the boost up until it pinked then back it off a little.
I have fond memories of beating a sierra cosworth going around a tight motorway slip road on three wheels.

Great fun in the wet!

Always remember the clutch cable snapping often so kept a spare in the car and called the AA out when it went and they would fit the new one!

Would love a go in one nowadays to see if they have aged well............

The Renault 5 GT Turbo is a brilliant little car !! The engine is a superb unit ( pushrod over head valve C1J Unit ) and they are extremely reliable if looked after. They are very simple to work on and very cheap to maintain. If people had problems with them its down to lack of maintenance ( usually young lads that thrash them - weve all been there ) The engine can deliver unusually large amounts of power when fitted with the correct performance products ( even in standard trim the T2 can deliver 140bhp at 16psi ) with a T28 forged pistons and steel rods, minor head and carb work + induction expect 220 bhp +. These cars can keep up with and in some cases can outpower many modern production hot hatches. And to end this post a well looked after unit can easily do in excess of 200,000 miles !!

Loved my red R5GT turbo, thankfully very last of phase 1's had the benefit of water cooled turbo, though different plumbing to Phase 2's. My mates early Phase 1 'oil cooled only turbo' ate a new turbo every 15k! Best birthday pressie ever was in-car boost kit...proper torque steer.

Stunning Fun ! Despite owning Ferraris, Maseratis and Mercedes since, nothing compares pound-for-pound in the smile department. Despite the reliability rumours, I only had 2 clutch cables and 1 turbo go in 7 years of ownership. The fun you can have in these pocket rockets is only limited by your imagination.
