Just met Jason Plato...
Discussion
Built a house for VBH's parents a few years ago, met Vicky & her brother Charlie both charming & polite. Most celebs are just normal people & as such like to be able to have a normal life. We would all get a bit techy if we saw someone loitering with intent beside our car every time we went to the shops, then again I suppose if you have such a recognisable reg no, you shouldn't be too suprised when you get stalked!
Here's an experiment. Find another car, stand next to it for 20 mins and start talking to the owner as soon as they come back.
See what reaction you get. I get people talking to me about the car. They get a "thanks" and I move on. It's a bit weird otherwise.
ETA: Plato your hero? He's a good driver but he doesn't even come across well on Fifth Gear when it's edited to 30 mins!

I've spent quite a lot of time with Jason and he's a really nice, normal guy. He does have his off-days but then so do most people and he will usually spend time talking to fans if he can.
For the best chance of meeting him in future try going to various bars in Jerico, he's usually in one of them

Don't listen to them, Plato is just testing you. Once he knows you are a real fan he will give you all the time in the world. He'll make you work at it though.... next step is to go round his house, don't go knocking on the door just yet, hang around in a tree, ideally get some pictures on him inside his own house (he'll love that kinda st, really shows dedication).

Its true what they say, don't meet your heroes.
Found myself sitting on the next table to Damon Hill in Chequers at Oulton Park a couple of years ago. He always comes across as a decent sort yet i didn't once think of disturbing the bloke whilst he was enjoying his fry-up...it's that old "personal space" thing ya know. Also bumped into Nigel Mansell at Croft during a quiet FBMW practice session when Greg & Leo were racing in that series. In spite of his reputation (often mentioned on PH) he couldn't have been nicer. Made my nephew feel 10 feet tall and gave him all sorts of freebies.
So, i'm quite happy meeting my heroes thanks.

I have met a few 'celebs' including Tiff Needell who was a top guy who talked to me for over half an hour on a couple of occasions. Really nice down to earth bloke.
Did you grab Tiff outside Tescos? Just 'happen' to see his motor as well? Why can't 'famous' people have some time off?
When they're 'on', they're (within reason) fair game, but they're not obliged to work 24/7.
It's also worth bearing in mind that whilst you may want to meet a particular 'famous' person, they have never even considered meeting you.
If you stand about in the cold for 20 minutes planning your speech and rehearsing your witty remarks, then bully for you. Poor old Jase didn't have that luxury, yet he still shook your hand and acknowledged your existence, didn't he?
And he left you with something even better: the ability to dine out for years to come on the story of the day you met Jason Plato.
Even if his number plate should actually belong to Mr Piato...

Met another bloke off Fifth Gear a while back at a VMAX, what a miserable he was. No enthusiasm or interest at all, did his bits to camera and fked off.
Just to give you a clue, his name rhymes with "stiff"
That is soooooooo far away from the Tiff that I know.Just to give you a clue, his name rhymes with "stiff"
He's always got time for people, from the granny in the pub 'you're that bloke off the telly' to chatting with petrolheads in the pit lane.
Plenty of threads on here saying the same so I suspect there was something else going on. Never met Jason but I suspect he's much the same.
In any event, being bothered all the time means that you have the right to be pissed off from time to time I reckon.

I've heard Tiff is a thoroughly nice chap. Strange.Just to give you a clue, his name rhymes with "stiff"
To the OP to be fair if I was a rather well known and well off bloke just about to get in my expensive car I may have been slightly cautious about sticking around too long aswell.
