OP, he shook your hand. What more do you want? It's freezing and he's parked on double yellows....... I mean, he didn't just blank you or tell you to f**k off..

Don't get me wrong, I don't exactly meet famous people often, but his behaviour doesn't sound that bad to me.

TBH, after listening to his 'acceptance speech' at the Toca awards dinner I agree with the sentiment, but seriously OP, he's just a bloke going to get his bloody dry cleaning.

Also, I'd be surprised if you got a different response if you bumped into him in a Toca pit walk, I always try to make an effort but I'm usually in a rush to get somewhere if I'm moving about the paddock... not that anyone comes up to me on the street and says 'look it's the Wookie, that well known BTCC support race mid-fielder' hehe
Thats only because nobody knows what you look like, if you were on TV occasionally you'd be covered in weirdos.

It is in one of the the Dick Lovett dealerships in Swindon. I used to work there smile

On a side note. OP if you were that intent on meeting him that you were waiting for 20mins in the cold. Why did you not just pop into the place and try talking to him there. You may have had a 20 min chat then as he would have had nothing better to do.

Just to add I also think he is a tt, partially because of how he drives and acts but also because I met him at a motorshow once and he was a miserable git there. He was on Vauxhall's stand signing autographs. Matt Neal was a lovely chap the same day on the Nissan stand.

A Hand Shaking Lesson to George Matthews

Next time you shake hands with a complete stranger, follow these simple rules:

1. Engage eye contact in a warm way
2. Smile (a little)as you introduce yourself
3. shake up and down twice and
4. LET GO of the recipients hand.
5. Continue chatting whilst maintaining eye contact

The below is what you should NOT do (which you did)

1. Appear from knowwhere
2. Start jabbering on like a weirdo
3. Look at the floor whilst jabbering at the recipient
4. Thrust yourhand out and then NOT let go

If the other person at any time is forced to say
" Please let go of my hand"
Then, you have I am afraid, made a very bad first impression.

Buddy, you looked like, acted like and are a weirdo.

if you see me again, my advice, turn around and walk the other way,
I will not be polite next time.

Lesson endeth.

You may want to disable the "email me" part of your profile, because no doubt you'll be getting all manner of crap into your inbox now you've replied!
