Was a truly wonderful day, glad we could all help to make yours and Lillys day. Very emotional day but well worth the trip. Very happy to have given Russel a ride so he could see Lilly get her dream ride in the Stingray and hear the engines roar in the tunnel (even if I couldn't contribute much to the noise).

Today and through this thread you have shown us what truly special people you both are and today was the least we could do for you both.

Good to meet some fellow PHers today and happy to have contributed in a small way to making the day so good for Lilly.

Wonderful to meet you Lily and Russel and family today. Was a privilage to be a part of this and join so many fellow PH'ers. This terrible disease statistically will effect 1 in 5 of us during our lifetimes. Seeing a loved one go though this is the hardest thing imaginable. Talking with Lily's sister it was clesr that Lily has had to cope with some awful effects and yet been so brave. Russel, your love of Lily was so evident, and your desire to see her happy today is testiment to this. Loving and comforting her is all that a man can do, and you should feel proud and at peace with your efforts.
I wish you all the very best for the future. Thank you for the hug Lily x

Fantastic effort everyone, just some brilliant support, well done.

As to DMN's post about today, I appear to have got a bit of dust in my eyes......weepingweeping

Got the Corvette out his morning. Headed for Clacketts, met up with some more Vettes and P/H'ds cruised down to Pease Pottage Services. Approaching I thought "I think this may be our coffee stop"? then a red Ferrari 430 pulled alongside with the driver in full Father Christmas outfit complete with beard, hat and tash, as we looked across, a little stunned, he held up a sign with " Ho Ho Ho " on it . I knew at once we were in the right place!! That set the tone for an asbsolutly splendid day. To meet Russell and Lilly and families at the hospice was truly inspiring and uplifting. What wonderful people they are.
The engine salute in the car park was really spectacular and Lillys face a picture as she grinned and thrust both thumbs in the air in reply. We all thought "Go for it Girl" and off we all set for a blast.
The tunnel was awesome, we went through twice making a sound not unlike a fleet of Apache gunship helicopters on full chat. ( not a rolled up window in sight )
Everyone had a day to remember. Thanks to all who helped with the arrangments, the hospice staff and all the Supercars that came and supported Russell and Lillys day.
Take care Russell and Lilly you are in our thoughts every day

I wondered who the Cerbera in the first few pictures belonged to. It's basically my ideal visual spec cloud9 If only it were a 4.5, too.

I'm glad you all had a good day and remain gutted that I couldn't make it down.

Just thought I'd pop on to say what a great day today was and how nice it was to meet Lily and Russell. Things like this make me proud to be a pistonheader. The generosity everyone has shown is great, and anything that can make the slightest difference to someone else is well worth the effort.

Thanks Br d for the lift from Clackets, it was certainly a welcome upgrade from the cramped back seat of the BMW. If at anypoint you fancy reconsidering a swap for my micra just pm me wink

Nice to meet you all and I will try and get some photos up soon.
