I don't know any who own a TT either.

Strange comments, made on a TV program 5 years ago, just shows how little people know these days but jump on the forum sheep band wagon.

Surely you were not expecting any objective analysis on here ?

Assuming its RWD to run in GT4? Looks expensive next to a G50.
If its RWD then a road version would be a desirable TT.
You think? It would still have two major problems IMO.

  1. It would still be an Audi
  2. It would still be a TT
So a perfectly stereotypical answer from someone who hasnt owned or currents owns an Audi. You go girl with your prejudices.

TT is a great car to drive. TTS is even better (and I had the flappy paddle box) and if anything to easy to drive fast. I've yet to drive the TT RS but with a 0-60 dash in under 4.5 seconds, magnetic dampers and 4wd is sounds more like a supercar than a mainstream car.

Of course they keys dont look as good as Porsche keys at the local wine bar. smile

Affordable & 120k (just for the car) in the same paragraphhehe

Would it really cost £80,000 to take a normal TT to competition standard?
Well, I guess its affordable as far as international motorsport is concerned. And this car is aimed at peole who want to enter FIA International GT4 series.

£80K to turn a normal TT to competition standard? Hell yes. Most of that will probably be in manhours. Toyota spent £93K on their "Super Production Toyota Carinas for a series in NZ back in 1993.

WOw more Audi bashing, should have seen that a mile off.

If any of you lot have driven one and can objectively compare it to other GT4 specification cars then maybe it would be worth commenting about how it drives and if it's good value but until then why critise it just because of its roots as a TT; a car which has a tarnished reputation on forums because of the likes of Clarkson and his golf in a dress comments 10years ago.

If we had access to a detailed specification list i'm pretty certain you will find that Audi won't be making a huge profit on these vehicles and the sum of the parts/upgrades + man hours that are required to take a standard TT and tune it to GT4 spec must be £100k any day of the week.

To be fair it is also Clarkson et al's more recent comments. Stuff about them feeling a bit dead and front heavy and not very involving.

From my, very very, limited exprience of cars in this class 99% of people would never notice anyway (Including people around here), but don't buy one for fear of loosing a pub argument about why they should have got a BMW 320 rather than the A3 baised on Top Gears assesment that the M3 is a better car than the RS4. Dave dosen't help either.

And yes, I agree. I wonder how much of this is man hours, as these cars are not put together on a production line by robots, or even by low paid fatory line workers.

You don't need to own one to know if its any good or not, a decent test drive will tell you enough and I have driven many.

You're also right about the badge snobbery, thats why I bought such a terrible drivers car, albeit with a respectable badge. rolleyes
