Being a Man who's not confident of his own sexuality, I of course wouldn't be seen dead in one - but nice enough car for the wife/gf I guess.
EFA.What on earth has gender got to do with it? I've never understood the idea of a "man's car" or a "woman's car".
Still f***ing hate MGs though...
oh dear oh dear, shed what were you thinking... not especially a bad car but, but there is nothing great about it. the concept is good, mid engine, RWD and it IS britsh... but it just dont work unless you are a girl.. in that case its fine.. but lets be honest thats not what PH's is about. Most petrol heads on a limited budget would walk past it and buy an MR2.. much better car in every way (apart from the chaved/riced up ones)..

Yeah, i look at it- and see a hairdresser's (male or female) motor. At least a bloke driving a Puma (in a right colour) or MX-5 can get away with it.
This one? Not so sure...
my folks bought the later TF brand new 54 plate, they lost a lot of money on it, had it 3 years and put about 16K miles on it. Oh and we didn't have the HG let go which is a plus!
The upside was it was very pretty and was fun to drive, but apparently the TF is better than the F for driving.
the build quiality is ropey as everyone knows, i don't know why anyone would say its not, it blatantly is!
anyway i liked the way it drove but went and bought an MR2 turbo instead and it was MILES better to drive, as was later agreed by my family when they drove the MR2.
For £1000 i wouldn't jump at it, when the TF reaches that kind of money it will probably be a good car.

I had two new as company cars in 2000 - 2002. Both were VVC's, the first was pre 2000MY suspension tweaks and was awesome I loved it.
The second was a post 2000 but built the day BMW announced they were selling the company. It was so unreliable but when it ran it handled well.
As for size I am 6 foot 6 inch and I could fit in one and drive comfortably.
Good shed but a lot of choice at that money.

TVR crowd reporting in, sneering derisively.
So which TVR would you buy for a grand? I wouldn't honestly turn my nose up at driving this though, anything you can drop the roof on and you don't have to be too precious with in the snow gets my vote!

Oh FFS who cares about gender stereotyping of cars. Sad that people are so concerned about what some shti-for-brains van driver might think of them. Be a big boy, buy what you want to buy.At least a bloke driving a Puma (in a right colour) or MX-5 can get away with it.

Given a choice of edging past a bloke driving a pink Micra CC and a bloke with a Hummer. It's the guy with the Hummer I'd give a wide berth.

I had 2 of these when they first came out; green one in 1996 and then a tahiti blue one a year later. I've still got the 'VVC' suffix mumber plate now.
Difficult to belive now but the very early ones commanded a premium! The cost to change for me at the time from green with 10k on the clock to blue was only a couple of grand. The demonstrator I borrowed for a weekend in 2005 broke down whilst I was in Hammersmith (guess what? head gasket) and the first one leaked like a sieve. Happy memories!

My parents have had theirs (a standard 1.8) since November 1999 and since then it's done about 5,000 miles pa. A couple of years ago it needed a new radiator and I think the HG was changed as a precaution but otherwise it's never let them down. Personally I'd rather have an MX-5 (and did) but I had a great time in it with the OH when we borrowed it to drive round Cornwall.
Spend a bit more on it & it could be awesome! 300bhp sounds like fun, not sure this would help with the inherant mid engine cooling issues though!
