Snow's on it's way to Bristol very soon.

I think it might just be time to dig out Sophie's MX5 from under it's cover and plonk the video camera on the back...
I hope there's gonna be some more snow in Bristol, so I can dig my smart Crossblade out.

Seems to be a bit of a trend. MX5 owners must be a mad bunch!

Heres mine took forever for the roof to warm up enough to put it down so I didnt damage anything. Was worth the wait though!

That's the question we're all asking, for half a dozen very good reasons! smile

My thread has arrived! biggrin

I've just driven 70 miles roof down, from Southampton to East of Gatwick.

I had to move the car from here up a relatively steep hill (which no one had managed to get up for a day and a half)-

Ready for the off-

And arrival at my parents place.
They've had a little bit of snow!! biggrin

Plenty of amused looks, confused looks and thumbs up on the way! biglaugh

I'm guessing most of these cars have heaters in them. WIMPS

This little piccie was taken on the Ilkley Jubille Rally in 2008. No heater, no side screens, on top of Ilkley Moor and it was an all day event. At one stage the blizzard was driving snow right through the car as we drove at 40mph.

Still cheating though - that looks suspiciously like a roof you have there (or a bin-bag).
Guilty. There was a bit of vynide flapping about about above our heads. I withdraw my comment.

Now you're talking PH...'bout time you caught on to what we're all up to.

If you're driving a soft top with the roof up, the storm outside better have a name...................

i don't take many pics but i'm sure i'll find a few from the past...

hang on....

at the top of a Norwegian Mountain in 2007

Tonight I commuted home in this Boxster with the temp showing -3.5. Into my journey this dropped to -4 and with no heated seats it was a bit chilly. Sports exhaust meant great fun though and well worth it for the look of absolute astonishment from wrapped up pedestrians and other drivers.

I like PH Open Season biggrin

In true Pistonheads tradition heres my MX5 'Shed', £750 of topless RWD fun! Was well into the negatives when this was taken, got loads of looks driving around, not sure if it was because of the topless action, the fact I was driving past stuck Quattro Audi's or because the thing will only go sideways!

Hey you go to Heriot Watt Uni seen you about a few times. nice mx5 btw, im hoping to get one not too soon!
Awesome, Im in 2nd year Automotive Engineering there. What you drive atm? Me and a 5th year mate both have them, his is an Eunos Roadster, there awesome things, you wont get much more fun per pound! Perfect starter RWD car. Check over on www.mx5nutz.com for loads of info/ideas smile
Cool, I have a red and Black corsa D I usually park in the same car park as you, think your friends Eunos is green.

Don't have any photos yet, but it was -5 this morning on the school run in the S2000. The roof was down because Mr. Fish didn't say anything about a hurricane. The five year old loved it.

I promise to get a photo driving about in the snow in Brum tomorrow.

You should see the line up for next weekend, when we all need to conform to Open Season for Sunday Service. The sacrifices we need to make, you wouldn't believe...

Plus, you appear to have parked it in a leisure centre reception area. Or possibly on an indoor bowling green. I can't tell.

With nothing more than a 2-litre lump sat behind for warmth, it can get a little nippy. These photos were taken last year whilst on a 2 week, 3,000 mile road trip across 9 countries. Driving through the Alps and taking in some of Europe's greatest roads including Fluelapass, Ofen Pass, Stelvio Pass, Oberalppass, Furkapass, Nufenenpass, St. Gotthard Pass, Sustenpass and Grimselpass, we experienced some interesting whether.

OBERALPPASS

FURKAPASS

SUSTENPASS

THE DESCENT FROM STELVIO PASS

There are literally hundreds of photos but I'll resist the temptation to share them all.
