When the diesel drivers talk, do they use big SHOUTY words to try to get their point across?

Assuming the OP drives a polo G60, then my diesel not only has much more torque, but much more power too!

This pointless thread could also be titled "why do people with sh*ty small luke warm hatches always drive like c*ocks........ ;-)

I think you right, it seems to be young boys with saxos, and middle aged men in diesels.
And not even close on the Polo G60 (even tho its a Polo G40, and a Golf G60)
Get your facts right!

Thats odd. I drive a diesel and have nothing to prove. I KNOW its faster than most peoples petrol cars. Shame its limited to 155mph.
There we go, just as I expected! smile

Clarify "most" peoples cars?
Right - first of all look at my profile and understand. But I will take your bait anyway

Second. Most peoples cars means ones that cannot do 0-60 in under 7 seconds, 50-70 in circa 4 and 155mph top speed. I think you will find that most cars (most being more than 50% of the cars on the road - most is an easy word to understand, if you are still struggling try a dictionary)

Third. It appears that I am good at fishing as several people took the bait.

I drive a Tuscan for heavens sake, I know when a car is fast.
Well... at least when it's not standing still at the side of the road waiting for the AA. smile

Indeed, when I was 17 my 50cc moped could wipe the floor with every one of my mates on their skateboards. The ones on pushbikes were a struggle though

If you consider driving at legal pace on the motorway, with an oil burner licking your back window, then when you pull over they try to blow your doors off, I guess your right, it must be me smile
Well if they were the ones posting on an internet forum about people who drive G60s travelling too slowly on motorways and not taking them on, then yes, they'd have the problem.

Given that's how I drive. 70 on the motorway. Cruise set. And I don't experiance the same thing. I wonder what the difference could be... scratchchin

People do tailgate. But not particularly diesels. Generally it's old people, people in mid range cars, women, people with hats on, truck drivers in 50 sections. But I've yet to notice a prevalence of diesels trying to "take me on" in any car.

No matter what I am driving, I don't seem to recall anyone "taking me on" - am I doing something wrong? confused

Do I need to "step up to the street" or "have a dance off" or something?

You're probably just hogging the outside lane at the legal limit. don't do that and all will be fine. HTH

Just what I was thinking, as I watched yet another diesel car depart the traffic lights with a farting noise and plumes of black smoke pouring out the back.
I take it there was something wrong with it, as any i've driven do neither.

I used to get it with a Saxo VTS which had a silly exhaust on when I bought it. Mostly from other young bods though.

Love it, both comments...

But I am afraid that no machine on the planet, bike or car is faster than a remapped BMW 335D wink

Perhaps you shouldnt be sitting in the outside lane unnecessarily? Try moving over into one of the other lanes.

If the OP's username is an indication of his car then this is relevant

Golf G60 stats

Maximum power 162.2 PS (160 bhp) (119.3 kW)
@ 5600 rpm
Specific output 89.8 bhp/litre
1.47 bhp/cu in
Maximum torque 225.0 Nm (166 ft·lb) (22.9 kgm)
@ 4000 rpm

0-60 mph 8.30 s

Top speed 216 km/h (134 mph)

These are not big figures!

If this is the OP's car then it sounds like its the OP that has something to prove
