Thanks djon, I found it on YouTube it ends before Peter Jones's time is fully out:

The audience laugh at the Jewish Racing Gold line, perhaps it's a play on wealth and being careful with money?

Perhaps Alan's bit about it taking just as long to say VW as Volkswagen also applies to Jewish Racing Gold? Why not just say gold?

Jewish Racing Gold aids the word count?

LOADED thread.

A chance for euro car snobs to let rip with the stereotype that the Japanese dont know what they are doing with cars.

Are the engines in these similar to the Soarer then? Has the displacement just gone up or is it a newer engine?

not really, this is marmite car, love it or hate it... i personaly hate it, beacause if Lexus had made it look nicer, put some decent wheels on it, sharpened the dynamics and made a better looking cabin it would be a winner. Sadly they made it mostly for the American market where it was quite a sought after car but for all the wrong reasons.. shame, it could have been a real alternative to a german but instead its just a bit of an odball that is largely unloved.. depsite the fact there is what could be a very good car lurking below that ugly body..

Is Jewish Racing Gold as racist as it sounds?
It is as racist as British Racing Green.

You're not surmising are you that Jewish people are some how related to Gold, and then therefore this is a racist term? Because that would be racist. hehe

Just about sums-up all this PC nonsense of nowadays.

And why haven't Maltesers been forced to be renamed? They can't even play pool like Maltese Joe Barbara.

Basically the same motor bored out with updated ECU and Variable Valve Timing

Listening to Matt Lucas on Front Row, he just descirbed himself as fat, gay and jewish.

Can someone explain the joke of 'Jewish Racing Gold'?

I don't think it is political correctness.

It reminds me of the Jewish backer than invested in Daimler Benz. His daughter was called Mercedes.

Looks pretty similar to the huge steaming turd I squeezed out this morning. Just wrong.
I suspect you do your turd an injustice by this comparison!

When Mark Evans built his own aircraft in 'A Plane is Born' he used a Rover K series engine. I think you can 'fly' pretty much any engine. You just have to service them a lot more often.

Even with the heavy handed Alfa GT like boot lid on the new Continental GT it still looks better than one of these.

you need to make sure the engine is not starved of oil when the plane is banking or climbing. Apart from that a lot of modern car engines are probably more reliable than the dedicated aviation piston motor's... many of which are based on decades old tech

Stateside, this SC makes sense - cruising down the 101 with a trunk full of wine from a Californian vineyard.

Blighted Blighty - crawl along the M60 past the Eccles interchange, in the rain, listening to Steve ste. Park it up, local tosspot sees Lexus and assumes £70k of car and keys it.

No car can make that a good experience.
