So you sit in the wrong lane on dual carriage ways and motorways then?

But why? Pray tell, is it:

Ignorance - that you honestly don't know that you shouldn't.

Or

Arrogance - That you have some kind of superiority complex and feel you are better than everyone else?

When I am king:

Lane 3 = 911s only
Lane 2 = Audis, BMWs, Mercs, lesser Porsches
Lane 1 = Every other fker

nuts
So lane 3 will be going at about 50mph? That's the average speed a 911 is driven at.
hehe

Fair point

Neither.

It's because the tool in the outside lane is blissfully unaware that there is anything behind him/her and therefore no amount of gentle creeping to their n/s mirror, or indicating or - God forbid - flashing, will move them. Either that or it's their own arrogance; that 70mph is the limit and woe-betide anyone who should wish to go faster, that's the problem.

I frequently undertake people because frankly, I'm not prepared to follow someone for miles and miles who is so unaware of their own surroundings.

Agree 100%, I just await the OP showing us all a picture of a camaro to prove we are all stupid and dangerous.

If you don't like getting undertaken, then keep in Lane 1, it's as simple as that.
That isn't always possible.... rolleyes

If it's possible to undertake, then it's possible for the idiot that you're undertaking to be in the lane that you are going to undertake them in.

If being in the right counts as arrogance, then I'm the most arrogant person in the world.

If I've got room to undertake pass you on the left, then you had room to pull over to the left where you should have been in the first place.

The best tactic is to time your undertake pass on the left to coincide with them being overtaken on the right; it kind of underlines their stupidity to be passed by a car either side of them. Not that they take a blind bit of notice.

No sympathy for MLMs - wake up, read the fking Highway Code and start driving properly.

Not always.

Over New Year I went on rescue mission to collect someone from Brighton. Mostly motorway (3/4 lane) and dual carriage way.

There were some total dickwads about, weaving in and out of the traffic as though it was some sort of grand prix. And in most cases they'd have got just as far down the road had they stuck in a single lane.

So you aren't overtaking, yet you drive for miles in the right-hand lane on dual carriage ways and motorways?

But why? Pray tell, is it:

Ignorance - that you honestly don't know that you should return to the left.

Or

Arrogance - That you have some kind of superiority complex and feel you are entitled to ignore the rules of the road and inconvenience others around you.

I think motorways should have an overtake on any lane policy.

Followed one dick who pulled out of a petrol station, proceeded to drive at 50 mph holding me and others up. Got onto a village bypass and then deliberately sat on the outside lane. Yes, I could have undertook him but a) its breaking the law and b) the knob had his young child sitting in the passenger seat.

What does make me laugh are the ones on the outside lane (M25,A12) who cannot wait for you to safely pull back in and proceed to try and overtake you on the gravel bit between the outside lane and the crash barrier.

Or simply be more aware of your surroundings?

That might help smile

In the meantime, I'll happily undertake you and your Blunderbird which is causing a mile tailback in lane three.

Neither. I occasionally 'undertake' as you call it because "where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. In these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right. Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake."

And if the other dickwad drivers had better lane discipline the progress of those who could then overtake correctly would have been even better!

Dang, hugo beat me biggrin

FWIW, if someone is hogging with nobody in front of them and no reason to be in the lane they are in then I give them a minute or so to realise their mistake. I'll usually then give them a polite flash. After that I show them 3rd gear.

Ironically after being undertaken they often return to the left lane, give chase, flash their lights and go nuts rolleyes
