Would like to buy my 3yr old a 12 or 24v quad/jeep for the garden. Can anyone give me some pointers or recommendations. Appreciate this is probably the wrong forum so MODS feel free to move, but there wasnt anywhere specific in P&P to post.

Thanks in advance for any replies

depends on how much you want to spend. The 12v ones are good on tarmac, and flat grass. the 24v ones can go on hills and gravel too.

My 2 kids share the Peg Perego Super Power 24v one. Has 3 speed settings, but we've only given them speed 2 so far. On the fastest, it's pretty quick, even on our gravel drive.

Not cheap at c£700 though, but they really enjoy it in the summer.

What about something like a toylander? Or just a little go kart, I remember as a kid my uncle picked me up a little yellow one for about a fiver of a car boot and i bloody loved the thing. I had it soo long i ended up sticking a lawnmover engine to it, it lasted all of about 2 hours. smile

Where are you going to use it?

If you've got the space get a Bocart. Yes they are more expensive but you can have a go too, and thats what you kid really wants.

Wait a year or so and get a 50cc petrol, much much better and can be restricted down so quite slow. May be a bit heavy but plenty of kids that age go on them, can be had quite cheap.

Holy thread resurection but I got my 3 yo twins two jeeps from maserspyders company and they totally rock, 12v ones with 2 6v 7ah batteries in series they run on grass no issue and are plenty fast enough I have to jog to keep up with the remote control.

Only downside the crap music loaded into the steering wheel radio but the kids like it - a Chinglish version of the Typically Tropical Barbados song from 1978 I think!!!
