Domain expired!

Record expires on 14-Jan-2011.
Record created on 14-Jul-1997.

Looks like someone forgot to do their job.

Looks like someone has dived in there quickly to register it.

Ouch hehe

Looks like it's still with the registrar though so if they pay their renewal fee they should get it back.

Kinda similar to forgetting to put 50p in t'lecky meter.

Its all automated. I'd not be surprised if its the people who it was registered with in the first place. I've had it happen with a domain I bought but never used.

But, it won't stick, there is a grace period, Halfords will be able to renew for a few more days yet.

Does this mean that someone else could buy the domain? Could I buy Halfords.com and the sell it back to Halfords?

Funniest thing I've seen this week.

Why does it not surprise me? Incompetency at its best.

Just the regular 'proper-tat' range until I learnt the hard way.

If you had spent a quid extra on each tool you'd now have a lifetime gurantee and much stronger tools wink

As good as that sounds on the face of it, it also means for the rest of my lifetime I'll have to go back to Hellfrauds!!

No thanks.

I'm guessing loo paper is in pretty short supply up at Halfords head office IT department this morning. Lets face it, as an IT department its a pretty basic thing to remember.

According to the website I get directed to, their site will be down for at least 48 hours as any renewal takes that long to process.

I suspect this will turn into a major issue for Halfords, the amount of dosh they must be losing from e-shop sales will be rather significant.
