You having a laugh, does not come anywhere near a continental GT in terms of class.
Besides i am not liking this CLS, the front spoils it, if anything the outgoing model looked classy and reminded me of something from the 90's Batman cartoons. This only looks good from the rear and side view. The retro look on the front end grill does not cut it for me.

Love this. Presence (understated), power and IMHO far more classy than a Continental GT. Definitely one to own at some point in my life.

I'm not sure you can ever place the words "Bentley Continental GT" and "class" in the same sentence. Horrible flashy footballers' cars in my view...(and I have driven one - behind the wheel is the best place to be)

A Bentley Continental R/T/SC, on the other hand, is definitely class....but that isn't really a CLS rival, is it?

Extremely ugly, and extremely tacky. The old CLS was cool, but I would be embarrassed to be seen in this. Or a silly modern Bentley.

Gotta wonder what car you're all looking at when you say it looks good.

Horrible, utterly horrible.
It is very odd reading the comments, this car is a seriously bloated minger. A DFS sofa has more style. nice interior mind.

Strange choice of suspension though, metal at the front and air at the back?
Yeah I spotted that. Airmatic divides opinions - I wonder if they retained it at the back for self levelling/adjustable spring rates when full but dropped it at the front to get a more analogue feedback?

I think the new CLS is way over styled and and lacks the purity of design of the original. All those forced angles on the body work look bad. I dont think it'll age well..

Great write up, one of the best I've read on here in fact.

As far as the car goes, I love the engine, just can't stand the body.... disliked the old CLS and the new one is still ugly as sin.
I'll have this engine in the C class please.

I spotted some of these! When I arrived in San Diego on 11th Jan I saw 2 of them and thought that they were odd as they were on Detroit manufacturer registration plates. I did wonder where they were heading. Looked good heading South on the I-5 that afternoon.

What a phenomenal machine. I still thin I'd have a Jag though.

Exactly that. It's purely to do with the high load capacity, and wanting to avoid a 'cowboy rake'.
