RE: Driven: Mercedes CLS 63 AMG

You having a laugh, does not come anywhere near a continental GT in terms of class.
Besides i am not liking this CLS, the front spoils it, if anything the outgoing model looked classy and reminded me of something from the 90's Batman cartoons. This only looks good from the rear and side view. The retro look on the front end grill does not cut it for me.

Love this. Presence (understated), power and IMHO far more classy than a Continental GT. Definitely one to own at some point in my life.
I'm not sure you can ever place the words "Bentley Continental GT" and "class" in the same sentence. Horrible flashy footballers' cars in my view...(and I have driven one - behind the wheel is the best place to be)
A Bentley Continental R/T/SC, on the other hand, is definitely class....but that isn't really a CLS rival, is it?

Isn't it a four door coupe?
no such bloody thing!! total and utter marketing bks, just like jaguar's XF, coupe, my ass, saloon car with a sloping roofline a coupe does not make!!! but still a fantastic over the top monster ride! like it for the engine if not so much the looks

Strange choice of suspension though, metal at the front and air at the back?
Yeah I spotted that. Airmatic divides opinions - I wonder if they retained it at the back for self levelling/adjustable spring rates when full but dropped it at the front to get a more analogue feedback?angusc43 said:

Exactly that. It's purely to do with the high load capacity, and wanting to avoid a 'cowboy rake'.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
