My opinion stands since the original thread on it...

After some serious consideration I reckon it's the light clusters (front and rear) that are ruining it. Because they are so similar to the Zonda's (trying to retain some brand styling characteristics), you end up comparing the car directly to the Zonda, and as such the higher nose and floaty rear lights make it feel like a poor imitation. If they had gone in a different direction with the light clusters, and made something totally new again - you wouldn't be making the same DIRECT comparison, and the look wouldn't be so initially repellent.
Think of Cameron Diaz with a bigger nose. Your initial thought is that she looks stupid with a bigger nose as if she's had an allergic reaction, etc etc. However, another equally pretty girl (but not a famous one!) with the same enlarged nose would not look strange at all, because you have no preconceptions as to how she should look.

That said it's growing on me, looks more refined than the old one.
Thats probably my key dislike about it. The Zonda had plenty of theatre going on, but it also looked a bit raw and I liked that. I'm sure the Huayra will be a fantastic car and supercar fans given time will be raving about it, but for me it just looks all a little too civilised for my tastes.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
