I think mine goes up at about sixty, or as my girfriend says, above naughty.
I'm not going to argue over 4mph. Shall we say "an official figure of 56mph but in practise around 60mph" then? Let's face it, neither the speedo nor the rheostat are going to be ultra-accurate.

I still think it is one of those features which so many people even non petrolheads find fascinating purely because so few cars have anything similar.
You're right - and the nice thing is, you can see it happening in the rear view mirror. I forgot the Boxster had an automatic spoiler until I spotted the switch for it in the cabin when playing around after I'd bought mine; it's simply not visible from inside the car when it activates I'd be interested in knowing what it's "massive failings" were apart from it being FWD. Which is clearly enough for you.
Seriously, if the Elan was RWD there would be no doubt in anyone's mind it was a sportscar, but the same old prejudices against FWD keep coming out.
cramped cabin, body flex, unrefined engine, poor build.. i love the old Espirt and the modern ones but we all know Lotus stood for LOTS OF TROUBLE USUALLY SERIOUS! so a quantum leap is still a quantum leap behind most cars.. and yes its FWD... booo.. i havnt owned one but i have been one and it felt like cheap kit car..

I bow to your superior knowledge gained from having been in once once, then. This is my little runabout,
It's a August 1993 car with 112K on the clock with 4 previous owners and with full service history and a box file full of old invoices abd MOT's. There are no mods to it except a a recent CD player and an a Cobra alarm system. Everything works on it including the spoiler and the sunroof.
I bought it 2 years ago when it had done about 102K.
