I think that is a press plate. I expect they would cover Clarkson's plate to prevent people knowing it was his car.
He does say on the program when he's driving it that it was his car...hence why he was driving it at 20mph - it may just have been a show plate though...! Either way, those AMG cars lend themselves to these plates:
SL55 AMG
CL55 AMG
ML55 AMG
etc wink

Oy, late 30's if you don't mind. Damn, I must have aged really really *really* badly.

I know, I know, it's one hell of a thread resurrection but I was just googling my old car to see if it had cropped up anywhere. Sold it in May 2011 and yes I put the plate on it, childish I know but I couldn't resist it.

Renault bought a few of the CL10 plates I think - I'm pretty sure that the Renault dealer I bought my Laguna from was able to provide a new Clio on one at the time.

May of been said before but wasn't CL10 CUP on top gear and a green Clio with James May driving it around Monaco GP track?

A few years ago I spotted the plate (my name), NAD 1R, on a E Class but the plate is now on a S Class. The most interesting plate I've seen though was a couple of months ago on a BMW E92 Coupe and the plate was W1 EED, I just couldn't stop laughing at the car and the driver looked very suspicious while he was driving. smokin

I wanted an "EVO" plate when I bought my car so chose one off the DVLA.

DC are my initials so that's personal to me but it's just a current reg number, so quite subtle really.

DB5 is on an Aston DB5 cool

DB9 is on a Cayenne S it seems. Shame, it would look brilliant on a DB9.
