RE: Open Season: Phantom Drophead Coupe
Discussion
For those who are slagging off the interior have you ever been in one? It is a very well made and subtle dash. I prefer it to any modern car that I have seen. I'd much rather have minimal switches and things hidden away when not needed. Agreed the choice of timber and leather is not ideal, but it much better looking, in my opinion than anything else apart from a Bentley Arnage or Mulsane. Compared to the dash on a Ghost it is so much more resolved and works better aesthetically as things don't just look dumped on there.

Don't suppose either of you sat in the back did you?....Don't!! The front is lovely and warm with the vents on the dash and floor and the heated seats...the rear gets none of those luxuries It was December and I froze!!
Tsk. Someone didn't order the rear heated seats! How mean! I watched a programme on TV about the making of a Rolls (all models) and was reminded just how much care and attention goes into each and every one. If only more makers took the time. However, they are vulgar, aren't they. edinph said:

The factory didn't, it was a car specced by rolls themselves Don't think rear heated was an option...certainly never saw it on any of the cars I've been in. I was just huddling next to the tiny vent in the rear of the centre console Didn't help that I only had a tshirt, jumper and scarf on...Wonderful car if you have the 'i don't give a fk about anyone else' attitude to go with it. I don't think it would 'sit right' with a lot of people to justify spending that much. Interesting write up but photos disappointing again. Instead of doing a jolly next time with the OH as you put it, what about getting a photographer to do some decent shots - although not a bad one of the horse!

It's good to see that you found Ilsham Marine Drive to take the pictures in Torbay! I would have thought Dartmouth would have been a more appropriate place for a Rolls Royce.
Good write-up and it makes me jealous that I'm in Leicester 200 miles away from my car and Dartmoor!
Well you have to rise above the flesh pots (or stay indoors after dark) to enjoy Torquay. Good write-up and it makes me jealous that I'm in Leicester 200 miles away from my car and Dartmoor!
This is the scene most visitors will recognise. Police vans outside Wetherspoons - picture taken on our way to Dartmouth for the evening, I think, including a well deserved jar in the Cherub!

I don't see why enjoying Rolls ownership requires an attitude like that. It sounds a bit 'chippy' to me, but then in spite of being a povvo I've always felt comfortable with the idea of being disgustingly rich! Taking a snapper on a romantic weekend away? Well, an interesting proposition...
(And I'm reliably informed it's a pony.)
It looks fab - but would you ever be able to use it? Unless you book ahead for two parking spaces with substantial manovoeuring room around them (can you imagine it in a multi-storey?) you'd always be worrying about where you were going to leave it.
to be fair, same applies I guess to most Lambos, Ferraris etc.
