We nearly fell off our chairs when we saw this hence why we had to shoot it there and then. I've got my eye on one of these, am I mad! Although judging by the Lotus girl maybe we should have put her in!

I went to an Alfa dealership today, the subject turned to the 4C. The bloke said it would be more like £60k when it's finally released, not sure if this had been mentioned, I haven't read the whole thread. A long way off the original price the press where throwing around...

Car dealer in talking out of his bum shocker...

60k is more than a KTM X-Bow.

OK, now .... reality check. How many times have we seen stunning new cars previewed at what were forecast to be stunning low prices ? And how often have we been disappointed ?

Yeah, right. And as far I remember, it never seems to happen the other way round.

Do you lot read a random unsubstantiated rumour and than just take it as fact or something?

As I understand it a 4C Pack will be going out to Interested Parties within the next cpl of months outlining production details.

yes almost 911 money.
Imho they won't sell a lot of them at that price.

The only thought on this is that if it has a carbon fibre body them compared to steel shells they won't be making many at all.

My understanding of the process implies that it is several magnitudes slower than the standard process for churning out a steel or alli body or even GRP.

If you have demand but limited supply then even if you could sell them all at £30k you could probably also sell them at £60k.

As someone has said cars always arrive dearer than the price mentioned at the outset but much above £40k and it is certainly a different Market and one which requires additional bells and whistles usually.

It would be a shame but it can't be impossible.

KTM can manufacture and sell the X-Bow in low volume with a bought-in Audi drivetrain from a little over 50k.

Alfa propose to build them in much higher volume with their in-house drivetrain. It doesn't make sense to me to be asking more than KTM are.

They were struggling a year or so back though I think? I seem to remember them shutting down production for a while.
