Lovely car.
I disagree - I think the current Jags look great, perform well and would be top of my list were I in the market for that sort of car. They seem to be selling well too.Garlick said:
I love the current Jaguar line up, in fact I think they are one of the most exciting car manufacturers out there at the moment.
Beautifully engineered, but they look like Hondas. You wouldn't know that they were Jags if they were de-badged. My S-Type will probably be the last Jag I own, unless they make the XK better looking.Edit.
I've just looked at images of the XF and it's dreadful. Sorry.

The original Series 1, but with the later HE engine and a manual box would be nice.
Please don't go putting ideas in my head!! My series 1 is going for rebuild in a month or so and the engine still has to be decided. Options are a 4.2 on triple SU's, a V12, or a supercharged six - and I still can't decide from one day to the next.richw_82 said:

If anything at all goes wrong with that V12 though! I get a sore head just looking at one of these engines, so mutch cramed into the engine bay, you would need the patience of a saint, incredible know how, and the dexterity of a contortionist to fix anything. If I had any 2 of these attributes I would buy one!

I changed the spark plugs on one of these once with a friend...took us a day and a half. *shudder* On the plus side they are quite strong and under stressed so you'll probably be OK. Probably. But yes, if anything bad went wrong you'd have to just swap it out.If anything at all goes wrong with that V12 though! and repeatedly saying:
"That, my friend, is 900 nicker in any store you're lucky enough to find one in. And you're haggling over 200 pound? What school of finance did you come from Nick? "It's a deal, it's a steal, it's the Sale of the f******g Century!" In fact, f**k it Nick, I think I'll keep it!"

EPIC! LOVE IT!
A proper Shed.
They really don't make them anymore.
The Series III was definitely one of the most sinister looking Jags they have made.
When people think of old Jags - this model defines the XJ and always pops up in people's minds.
I have owned several Jags, but never a Series III. This one seems a bit too cheap to be true - and seems to have been on sale for a while?
Generally, the engines / transmission are solid and bullet proof - well, they seem to be on the XJ40 and X300 models, X308 can suffer from some of the nikasil issues. But, it's uaully the electrical niggles and bodywork that lets these down.
I love them and this is a perfect SOWT. Well done.
