OK folks so we all love it, question is what colour would you have?

I'd have one finished in the same hue as this:

Stunning in every area except the width of the rear (size of rear tyres/wheels... I think thats the cartoony element) and the rear wing.. I would have one in a heart beat though...gorgeous.
I think u need to look at the spec, and the fact that its a modern take and 'usable' not 'lethal'
I didn't mean it shouldn't have a rear wing, but a fixed ducktail is do-able...or if you wanted a retracable tohave it smoother but pop out sooner..
Wide tyres don't need to be have a large radius
Brake discs don't have to be huge (to justify big wheels) when the car is light and they could be ceramic.
Easy ways and means to improve....and remain to true to a modern take. wink

I know the purists with beards will shun it, but my goodness, that looks ace! There's a damn good reason why there are more classic 911s still on the road than any other marque.
How did you know I had a beard?!

Love the detailing and the interior but would prefer it with normal narrower look of the 2.7 RS. One of the advantages of the older 911s are that they are small and good for narrow B roads.

I haven't checked the link but is there a price for this?

Fixed tail and smaller wheels with fatter tyres and it would be beyond perfection.

Yes please. I love this type of thing, modern internals in a classic body. Most of the cars in my dream garage are of this ilk.

I think it's one of those "if Sir has to ask..." type things.

I doubt you'd get one for less than six figures.

nono Narrow track rear end if it is going to look 'proper' 911 classic. You can keep it as it is...

Therein lies the problem with one of these "remakes". Fine if you intend to keep forever, but if you have to sell then most likely looking at a big hit...

Well... at $300,000 (£200,000) I can think of a lot of other Porsche flavoured toys for the garage.

I think the $300k was for the concept model sold at auction. The base model starts at $175k and that has "only" got 300bhp. Still not cheap by an means but probably a good option for people tired of the oh so common Gallardo or 458 Italia.

0-100 in 8.5!?

So that's about the same as a Diablo VT, Nissan GTR or KTM X-Bow then?...

Massive want. Looks gorgeous too, even the lights just 'work'.

The rear wheels look too wide IMO. They just look odd and don't suit the car at all.

The more I look at what current design and build the more I realise that The Motor car has been done! All that manufactures seem to be able or want to offer now is more, more, more,

More power (who really needs 600BHP?)

More Rubber do we really need teeth jarringly low profile 19" tyres for the road?

More weight? we all know that the Mk1 Golf is half the weight of the current Model.

In 50's the off the shelf D-type was capable of 170+mph without too much effort, have we really progressed much since then? Obviously a new car is amazingly reliable especially when you consider how much more complicated they are. Still, I'm left thinking, surely it's about time that the consumer starts thinking and is educated to the fact that less is more.

This is why the Singer sings to me. An almost flawless (apart from the engine in the boot) piece of iconic design, updated, reworked and still as beautiful as it was when it moved from drawing board to road. If we accept that the best car design has already been done, why don't the manufactures re-create these stunning works such as this Singer and the E-type re-creation we've spoken about this week, Improve them for the 21st century rather than the oversized, over sqare, over powered and over weight offerings currently and quite depressingly available today.

Recently I had an F430 for the weekend and was staggered at just how impressive it was, I didn't get that important feeling of being involved at anytime whilst driving her though. last summer I drove a beautiful 1960 Triumph TR3A It was such good fun in fact a chap in a Mercedes AMG stopped next to me at the lights and shouted across "So cool man".... I Drove it all the way from Kent through Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire to Berkshire it was magical and utterly satisfying The Ferrari like all Ferrari's was a special moment, but the Triumph was genuinely more fun (Further with the Triumph I didn't get Cock and C*nt written on the paintwork whilst I was paying for fuel on the A3 service station as i sadly experienced with the F430)

I'm getting old aren't I?

The ductail is hardly efficient by todays standards or the standards of the retractable wing (993?) though is it, and you are right wide tyres don't have to have a large radius, but it does increase the contact patch, look at the reasons for the wheel sizes used on moby dick, and yes you could go ceramic, but i've had cars with them and i'd just rather not on a track day / everyday machine, but if cost is no option i'm sure they could be added.
