Think if I was buying a FRS and saw Khumo tyres I would walk away
Ah well, that'd leave the car for someone that has a bit of a clue, won't it? If it was mine i would be considering the kumho ku31`s, falken 452`s and toyo t1R`s (not the proxes 4). Otherwise i would just go for it and get a set of Michelins finest.
These are Khumo ECSTA tyres fitted to a Lexus 460 SE-L: -

BTW had Dunlop Maxx and Dunlop Sport 01 on my MB S Class, fitted wit h18" AMG wheels...they were the worst tyres I have ever had...appalling in the wet and only £1,000.00/set!
Have fitted Falken FK452 supplied by Click-on Tyres and fitted and inflated with Nitrogen by ATS Euromaster...so far delighted. I would definitely not describe them as "Ditch Seekers"...even though they are supposedly "Budget Tyres". Superb in damp conditions!

Most FRS owners are a fussy bunch, I own one! Some FRS owners don’t even drive their cars in the winter so I am just saying that you may put off some punters by having different tyres front to back. If your keeping it then put whatever you want on and give your feedback to us as to how a budget tyre handels 300bhp! For your interest I had Dunlop Sport A1 on my Golf GTi and they were dreadful, Then I went to Goodyear F1 asymmetric and loved them then went to Michelin PS3 which weren’t so great. so I agree going just by brand isn’t a shore fire way of getting a good tyre.
Where's all the love for the Rain Sport 2 gone? Perhaps not the sportiest dry weather tyre, but I'd personally try it over the Kumho.

I read FRS and my brain computed that as a Skoda vRS I don't have experience with Kumhos on 300bhp, but that's what my family uses and they're fine for me (182) and father likes them (reasonably enthusiastic 170bhp A4 driver).
I realise it's a different kettle of fish with nearly double that much power but I think the principle will be similar, go expensive if you need it
Edit for italicisatio fail.

So you like driving a car that has tyres that came last in the EVO 2010 tyre test But I guess Evo don't know anything because people on an internet site said they were the DB, lol
I actually have Kumho Ecstas on my 200SX, Toyos T1rs on the X5 and Falkens 452 on a Voyager.Yupp, I'm very happy with all of them. Kumhos could have stiffer sidewalls

There are obvious flaws in EVO's test (they used a MX5 which isn't exactly representative), and other tests have the Kumho and Hankook up near the top amongst the premium brands.I'd take more heed of ADAC and the other German tests, personally.

The Kumho is a great tyre, apparently modeled on the corresponding Michelin which is probably why they feel like a Michelin. You need to try one before accusing them of being substandard. I've had far worse tyres in the past from Goodyear, Firestone, Conti and Michelin. You even admit that "going just by brand isn’t a shore (!) fire way of getting a good tyre" - so how can you say Kumho's in this size and style are not a good tyre ?
As for not using a car in the winter, bunch of puffs
